🏗️🎨 What a beautiful day to celebrate a new chapter!

Today, we officially broke ground on the NEW Duncan Elementary School of the Arts! The 135,000-square-foot school will replace the current campus, first built in 1968, with modern spaces designed specifically for arts education. 🩰🥁🏫

We can’t wait to watch it all come together and welcome students in 2027-28! ❤️ #WeAreD5

Our new eSports program at Byrnes High School is off and running! 💻 As part of preseason practice, our gamers competed again students from a Georgia school today 🎮 Regular season begins next week! 💯 Good luck Rebels! #WeAreD5

Fall is for APPLES!🍎 🍏 Mrs Chapman’s 4K students at Lyman Elementary had a lesson they could sink their teeth into! 😀 Students have been learning about apples, and teachers cooked sone for them this week. 🥘 From reading recipes to measuring ingredients, the learning was delicious! ❤️ #WeAreD5

Still smiling from all the fun at "Rock Your School Day" at Tyger River Elementary School! 🎶🎸🎹🎤 The day was part of an annual worldwide event that encourages educators to transform regular school days into engaging and memorable learning experiences 💯Tyger River students guest readers, painted their own kindness rocks, sang karaoke and played rock music 🎸 What a fun day! ❤️ #WeAreD5

Today, we remember.

Students and staff at Byrnes Freshman Academy gathered this morning for a special 9/11 remembrance ceremony, honoring the lives lost 25 years ago and the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.

Special thanks to our Byrnes JROTC and orchestra for such a meaningful tribute, and for the local first responders who joined us in remembering.

We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

Constructing future careers! 🚧🏗️ Vulcan Materials invited students from all of District Five's middle schools to visit the Lyman Quarry for a tour and lunch 💯 Students were able to learn how they company helps to build our roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals. From heavy equipment to engineering and environmental science, the career possibilities were endless! #WeAreD5
