Do you have a child who will be entering Kindergarten for the 2026–27 school year? Spartanburg District Five Schools is excited to welcome our newest learners and their families to our amazing district!
Kindergarten registration for the 2026–27 school year is now open, and families are encouraged to register early to ensure a smooth start to the upcoming school year. Under South Carolina law, students must turn five years old on or before September 1, 2026, to be eligible for Kindergarten.
All District Five elementary schools are accepting new student registrations Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Families must visit their zoned school in person to begin and complete the registration process. Don't know what school your child is zoned for? Simply check our school locator tool to find out!
Please bring the following documents when registering:
Proof of residency (such as a water or power bill, or a mortgage or lease agreement)
Current vaccination records
Your child’s birth certificate
4K Registration Also Open
Registration for new 4K students for the 2026–27 school year is also underway. Students must turn four years old on or before September 1, 2026, to be eligible. Please note that 4K enrollment is limited and based on academic need. Families interested in 4K should contact their zoned school for additional information.
