Beech Springs Intermediate School

Our last round of 6th graders went to Roper Mountain today. 🥼🔬They went through three labs to investigate the impact of meteoroids. ☄️They were able to work with microorganism, crater simulations, and fossils! 🦴

Last week, we inducted 5th and 6th grade club members into the National Beta Club. 🤩 Students must maintain all A's in order to be in the club, and exhibit great character, service, achievement, and leadership. Way to go students! 👏

Ms. West's classes have been hard at work implementing their #AVID strategies by using text structure charts. We love to see them hard at work. 📓

Our teachers are "red-icously" awesome! Thanks to our District 5 teachers forum for these sweet treats for our staff! ❤️🍎

Our FCA today was an all girl group led by Taylor Sorenson from Grace Spartanburg. ⛪️ She spoke to them about qualities of a good friendship. 💕

🎶Mrs. Shifletts choir students today showcased all they've been learning the past 12 weeks in class.🎵Other classes were invited to come watch and cheer them on. We love the collaboration throughout the school! ♥️

It's Super Bowl Sunday🏈, and this past week Mrs. Chiles class had a friendly competition gearing up for it! 🤗Students were put on a team, 49ers or Chiefs. The winning team was the 49ers, who received donuts! 🍩 Who are you pulling for today?

Students in Ms. West's classes were treated to a fun Friday! We love a mental health day to calm ourselves and be a kid! 👾♠️🎲♟️

We had a ✨big crowd✨ at FCA today to see Derek Henderson from His Vineyard. We love it when our community pours into our students!

Students in Dr. Knebel's classes have been learning how to research and debate. They put their knowledge to the test and were assigned topics to debate. They'll use these skills as they get ready to begin their argumentative essay unit. 📖

Mrs. Richards students homeroom earned a game period for passing 50 iReady Reading lessons with a 100% accuracy last week! What a GREAT incentive!

🎊The day finally came for students in Mrs. Landon and Mrs. McCrary's classes to unveil their mummified peppers. Back in September, they studied Egypt🇪🇬and used similar techniques to mummify a jalapeño pepper. 🌶️ Looks as though they did a great job!

Ms. Williams students finished their book on making butter, so they tried it for themselves! 🧈 What a fun way to apply their knowledge 🧠

Students in Mrs. Richards class participated in flash light reading today! What a fun way to engage and get students to fall in love with reading. 📚📖

These students participated in the SC ASTA Violin & Viola Choir event at North Greenville University. Way to go students, we are so proud of you! 🎻🎼

Mrs. McCrary's class created models to explore and understand seafloor spreading. 🌊 We love a hands on manipulative to bring a topic to life! 👋🏼

This morning our 6th grade students started completing the SCOIS assessment. This is the first step in our students exploration of potential careers for them after high school. 🎓 We love helping them make decisions to reach their goals! ✅
