🚨 Important Announcement 🚨 Due to power outages and storm debris still in the area, Wellford Academy will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, October 8. Please note the following schedule adjustments: 🚌 Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. 🏫 School doors will open at 9:00 AM. 🍎 Breakfast will be served from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. ⏰ Students will be considered tardy after 9:30 AM. Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe! 💙

📣Shoutout to some of our amazing 5th-grade teachers for bringing a little ☀️sunshine☀️ to their students' day! While our families are home recovering from Hurricane Helene, our teachers dropped off goodie bags to remind students they're loved and missed. ❤️ We are so thankful for these teachers and we can't wait to see all of our students again!

Due to the potential impact of Hurricane Helene, Friday, September 27, will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students and staff. All schools and buildings will be closed on Friday. School will continue as normal on Thursday, September 26, but we will not have after-school programs. Please note: all after-school programs and activities have also been canceled for Thursday and Friday.

☕️🎉 Rock, Paper, Scissors Showdown! 🎉☕️ Our teachers know how to have fun and compete! Throughout the day, teachers had a friendly game of Rock, Paper, Scissors for a chance to win a coveted Starbucks gift card! The winner of the game got the necklaces and the person with the most at our faculty meeting won! 🙌✨ Laughter, cheers, and some intense competition made today and this afternoon one to remember. 🍽️ Breakfast with Buddies 🍽️ Today, we welcomed our Kindergarten families to join us for a heartwarming morning filled with delicious breakfast, classroom tours, and a glimpse into the amazing work our students have been creating! 🎨📚 It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with teachers and see firsthand the incredible projects and learning experiences happening every day. 📢Each month Wellford staff like to recognize an employee who demonstrates the 🌟best 🌟attributes of Wellford Academy. We are looking for staff members who are thoughtful, enthusiastic, team players, and genuinely positive about our school. We will present someone with this award each month from now until May. Staff members may nominate any staff member (teacher, assistant, custodian, etc.) 🤩Congratulations to Ms. Horne for winning our Most Valuable Employee award in September! 🤩 A couple of the nominations received: "Ms. Horne truly pours herself into her classroom and our fourth grade team each day! She spends many hours making sure she gives her students the best quality lessons, her teammates intentional guidance, and the school any support that is needed. Wellford is lucky to have her!"
