🐾 Melinda will be a Reading Interventionist at TRE and has been an educator for 22 years.
🐾 She was educated at Winthrop University.
🐾 Melinda enjoys reading and spending time with family.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is being able to watch children grow and change over the course of a school year.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Amber Neyman!
🐾 Amber will be a 3rd Grade Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 8 years.
🐾 She was educated at North Greenville University.
🐾 Amber enjoys shopping, organizing, spending time with family, and going to the beach.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is having the opportunity to form lasting relationships with students. She loves having a front row seat to watch students learn, grow, and be the best version of themselves.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Katie McDade!
🐾 Katie will be a Speech Language Pathologist at TRE and has been an educator for 17 years.
🐾 She was educated at North Greenville University, Lesley University, and the University of South Carolina.
🐾 Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and trying new healthy recipes.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is the relationships she gets to build with students and their families.

We are looking for volunteers to be part of the TRE Parent-Teacher Organization! Volunteers are needed to run a PTO table at Open House this week and help with various events throughout the school year.
If you are interested in helping, please message us or call the school.


The students of Tyger River Elementary are receiving a special gift from a community organization. This organization has generously purchased a backpack for each of our students. Students are welcome to bring their own backpack, but a backpack will also be provided for each student on Wednesday, August 14. More information is coming soon!


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Kellie Smith!
🐾 Kellie will be the Librarian/Media Specialist at TRE and has been an educator for 13 years.
🐾 She was educated at Clemson University, University of South Carolina, and Western Governor’s University.
🐾 Kellie enjoys traveling, art projects, reading with her daughter, baking, exercising, and outdoor recreation.
🐾 Her favorite part about being a librarian is getting to know students and their interests, helping them find their next favorite book, and fostering a lifelong love of reading.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Amy Faulkner!
🐾 Amy will be one of our Special Education Teachers at TRE and has been an educator for 29 years.
🐾 She was educated at Presbyterian College, University of South Carolina, Converse College, and the American College of Education.
🐾 Amy enjoys cooking for others, pickleball, thrift shopping, reading, listening to people's stories, traveling, cheering on her favorite Byrnes tennis player, and anything Harry Styles.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is working with a team of people to implement a plan which allows the student to reach his/her maximum potential.
🐾 After spending a few years out of education, Amy is very excited to be returning to teaching with such an AMAZING group of teachers and administrators! She feels like she hit the jackpot.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Melody Linamany!
🐾 Melody will be the Music Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 26 years.
🐾 She was educated at Furman University, BM Western Kentucky University, and MAE.
🐾 Melody enjoys home improvement projects, going to the beach, and reading.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is helping students learn to love music.
🐾 Melody and her husband own a condo at North Myrtle beach and travel there on the weekends.

The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Gena Corbitt!
🐾 Gena will be a Multilingual Learners Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 28 years.
🐾 She was educated at Clemson University and Converse University.
🐾 Gena enjoys hiking, exercising, traveling and reading.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is watching the students learn English for the first time! It is a truly magical experience to watch! She loves her students and forming relationships with their families.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Harriette Mackey!
🐾 Harriette will be a 5th Grade Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 37 years.
🐾 She was educated at South Carolina State University and Clemson University.
🐾 Harriette enjoys journaling, reading, bicycling, and traveling.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is getting to know her students’ interests and hobbies also helping them to grow academically and socially, and to have a positive mindset to believe they can achieve.
🐾 Harriette wants each one of her students to be lifelong lovers of reading.


We are so grateful for this group of Lifesong Volunteers who helped unbox, sort, and count multiple pallets of books for our students. Thank you so much for helping us prepare for an amazing school year!

🐾 Kristy will be a 5th Grade Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 20 years.
🐾 She was educated at North Greenville University.
🐾 Kristy enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading mystery novels, decorating, and learning new skills.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is seeing students grow both academically and as a person.
🐾 Fun Fact: Kristy graduated from BHS and was a Drum Major in the Rebel Regiment


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Julia Jackson!
🐾 Julia will be a 1st Grade Teacher at TRE and has been a first and second grade educator for 17 years.
🐾 She was educated at USC Upstate.
🐾 Julia enjoys being with her husband and daughter, playing games, taking naps and doing crafty things.
🐾 Her favorite part about teaching is the connections made with her students and their families! Once they are in her classroom, they will always be a part of her. Julia loves to keep up with former students as they grow up and become successful!
🐾 This will be Julia’s first year teaching in D5! She am thrilled to be a part of the TRE first grade team!


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Terry Shaw!
🐾 Terry will be a 3rd Grade Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 30 years.
🐾 She was educated at the University of Arkansas.
🐾 Her hobbies include running, reading, and spending time at Lake Keowee.
🐾 Terry’s favorite part about teaching is spending each day teaching and getting to know each one of her students.
🐾 Terry is excited to be a part of the opening of Tyger River Elementary. She knows great things are in store for the students and teachers.

🐾 Margaret will be a 5th Grade Math and Science Teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 20 years.
🐾 She was educated at USC Upstate (BS in Special Education) and Clemson University (M.Ed. Teaching & Learning).
🐾 Her hobbies include baking and spending time with family and friends.
🐾 Margaret’s favorite part about teaching is being able to help students reach goals that they thought were impossible and seeing the excitement in their eyes when they are successful.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Jody Allison!
🐾 Jody will be the Technology Coach at TRE and has been an educator for 24 years.
🐾 She was educated at Limestone University and Southern Wesleyan.
🐾 Her hobbies include reading, walking/jogging, traveling, and playing games with her family.
🐾 Jody’s favorite part about teaching is that every day is different and brings a variety of opportunities to serve students, parents, and teachers.


The next staff member that we would like to introduce is Kara Gillespie!
🐾 Kara will be a 4th grade teacher at TRE and has been an educator for 20 years.
🐾 She was educated at the University of South Carolina (Columbia), Converse, and USC Upstate.
🐾 Her hobbies include cooking, the NYT Crossword puzzles, tennis, and watching Carolina Panthers football.
🐾 Kara’s favorite part about teaching is using creativity to solve problems, connecting with children, and continuing to learn each day.
🐾 Her husband is also a teacher and they have two sons, Trad and Aiker, a dog, Amy, and a cat named Ozzie.
