🎨 CREATIVE FRIDAY🎨
Imagine. Create. Inspire. 🇺🇸Mrs. Grant’s Chamber Orchestra performed Friday morning at the AFROTC 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. 🧊Mrs Sheehan's art students created 3D cubes with facades of numbers, eyes, emojis, and letters to name a few. Overlapping was emphasized. Future artists are athletes too, raising the ultimate question, "What would Art be like if it was treated like a Sport?" 🖼️ Mrs. Long’s Art Appreciation students worked on their group Frayer Model Critiques on famous artworks. 🏜️Mrs. Long’s Art 2 students completed their Folk Art Line Landscape Projects.

✍️ CREATIVE FRIDAY✍️
Imagine. Create. Inspire. 👥Mrs. Hollis’s English class worked on their Commercial Parodies- Graphic Organizer in small groups. 📕 Mrs. Bowens English class enjoyed the beautiful weather in our new courtyard while completing their independent reading time. 🇺🇸Dr. Cash’s AP language class analyzed and discussed rhetoric in visuals, articles, and speeches about the events of 9/11. We will never forget! ✂️ Ms. Gossett’s English 2 students created their own poems using chopped words from “Thank You, Ma’am” by Langston Hughes and were to arrange the words in any order to create their own poem with a unique title within their small groups. At the end, the origin of the words was revealed to prove to them that they too can be creative poets, and that poetry transcends genres .

📚 Students Become Authors! Mrs. Hollis’ English classes visited the library this week to show their understanding of George Orwell’s Animal Farm! Students combined their knowledge of the novel, the history of the Russian Revolution and USSR, and English Language concepts like allegory and satire to create their very own "Chapter 11" using Book Creator. It was so much fun seeing students apply what they’ve learned, think critically about Orwell’s message, and put their own creative spin on the story. 📖 We loved having Mrs. Hollis’ classes in the library and seeing their creativity and understanding come to life! 💙 Your Favorite Librarians: Mrs. Dickerson and Mrs. Roberts
