Inspire. 🤩Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Dickerson, Ms. Little and Mrs. Watts had an early morning library meeting planning lots of fun for next week! 🐷 Ms. Harris’s students worked on a poster analyzing perspective and allegory in Animal Farm. 📝Ms. Little’s English students designed advertisements using persuasive devices. The three groups posing were the standouts in 3rd period!

Imagine. Create. Inspire. 🖼️ Mrs. Sheehans art students reinvented the Mona Lisa. Creavity unleashed! 🧑‍🎨Mrs. Sloan's Art 2 and Art 2 Honors classes have completed their wire sculptures and prints! Students brought their ideas to life in both 3-D and 2-D  artwork!   🌀 Mrs. Long’s Art Appreciation completed their Kandinsky inspired group artworks this week! 🎨🖌️ Mrs. Long’s Art 2 students worked on their watercolor techniques! 💃🏼Mrs. Archie’s Dance 1 students completed a Scavenger Hunt to match Choreographers to their Masterworks.

🧪Mrs. Yarborough’s Chemistry students practiced naming compounds.

🔬 Mrs. Demumbreum’s Forensic Science students started their trace evidence unit with an introductory microscope lab.

📈Dr. Hedgpeth's classes built their bungee cords for Barbie Bungee today. They have collected data, created linear models, and determined how many rubber bands will result in the best bungee jumps for Barbie and friends.

📏Dr. Coker’s Honors Precalculus students completed an activity to help visualize and understand radian measure.

🖊️Mrs. Grimes math students practiced rewriting equations in exponential and logarithmic forms.

📝Mrs. Yarmolik’s German 3 students used visual manipulative aids to practice sentence structures involving reflexive pronouns.

👗Mrs. Petit’s Spanish 2 Honors students practiced their speaking skills on how well clothes fit and giving suggestions to others. They worked on a dialogue and a game where they had to give spontaneous answers.

Our School Improvement Council SIC had their first meeting today to kick off the new year!

Teachers spent the Early Release afternoon training on Panorama for Teachers. This is a multifaceted platform that allows teachers to view data on student grades, attendance, social/emotional learning, and many other important pieces of data allowing a wealth of data analysis for teachers to better serve our students. Teachers then worked within their Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to discuss "What might mean for our teaching?" Teachers discussed how they could use this program to help students within their PLC and collaborate on next steps for the PLC.

⛳These Lady Rebels Golf Team hosted 25 teams from all over the state to play in "The Lady Rebel". This was the first 18 hole tournament of the year on August 27. This is the 15th year the tournament has been held.

These girls (each pictured) had the opportunity to compete in the tournament: Nealy Pretulak, Olivia Ledford, AJ Smith, Mallory Davis, Ivy Thompson, Kelsie Vaughn, Misa Desai, Emmeri Johns, and Adeline Watchorn.

Proud of their hard work this season. They have 5 more match-ups in season play.

🏆 We want to give a shout out to Mrs. Wyatt and the yearbook staff! The yearbook received a superior rating at the SC Scholastic Press Association conference!  This award is for the 2025-2026 yearbook. Congratulations on a job well done!!

Congratulating to these members of the Byrnes Orchestra who made Region Orchestra. They will perform in a concert at Winthrop University on November 7.

🖥️ Tech Tuesday 🖥️ Power Up Your Future! 🎥 Mr. Warren’s Broadcasting Students worked on this weeks Byrnes Broadcast. (Look at this state-of-the-art setup these students get to use to learn the broadcasting business! And to have a veteran like Mr. Warren leading them! They are very lucky! We are lucky to have this opportunity for students at Byrnes!)

Move. Lead. Conquer. 🥏 Coach Griswold, Coach Higdon and Coach Diggs took their students to Century B Park in Greer to play disc golf. 🚐Coach Justus’ Personal Health Students designed and created models for healthy food trucks and even planned meals and inventory.

Help to send off the Rebel Regiment to their first competition of the season! Saturday at 4:15ish in front of Founders.
