BIG results from the Rebel Swim Team Region Meet and State Qualifiers, and look at our two Wolves Charlie and Ally!!! Girls: Finished 4th in the Region Boys: Finished 6th in the Region Charlie Malone got third place in the 100 back. Kira Garrett and Charlie Malone got All Region (top 20 point scorers). State Team: The following athletes will be part of our state team and will be competing at state on Thursday, October 8 (girls) and Saturday, October 10 (boys). Students in Ms. Pierce’s 8th grade ELA class turned their classroom into a courtroom as we wrapped up our study of “The Outsiders” with a Johnny Cade Mock Trial!
Using evidence from the novel, students stepped into the roles of judges, jurors, complete with Ponyboy and Cherry as witnesses!
No need to worry Johnny Cade was found NOT GUILTY!

Review for the unit test, but make it fun!
Today students Mrs. Linkous' social studies classes studied for their upcoming unit test by playing a new game called "just draw it". They each had to sketch a picture, the class had to guess what it was about, then they used the image to reteach the fact! They also had to go back into their Cornell notes for the information!
Students in Mrs. Williams’ 7th grade PLTW classes have been designing giant board games. Today they evaluated them and provided peer feedback!
Our 8th graders have been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with mini research pennants! 🇲🇽🇦🇷🇭🇳🇨🇺🇵🇷🇵🇦🇪🇸 By researching famous Hispanic people, they have gained a better understanding of culture, race, and what makes us all unique while also practicing multiple AVID strategies. 💪

Ms. Hinsdale’s science class completed a project on their Living Things Unit, creating a cell model out of treats! Looks like it was a lot of fun (and pretty yummy)!
🐧Mrs. Sturgis’ scientists put everything they’ve learned about heat transfer to the test! They worked together to design and build a hut that would help protect penguins from the effects of climate change.
They used their knowledge of conduction, convection, and radiation to create a design that would help keep their penguins cool and protected! Great teamwork, creativity, and scientific thinking! 🐧
See You at the Pole was this morning. Due to the potential for rain, we moved indoors and packed out the media center. Students sang praise songs, listened to a message from Pastor Nathan Clyburn, and prayed over our school and community. Thank you to all the community members that joined us this morning.

As an eighth grade math teacher she uses engaging instructional strategies to make learning meaningful and fun for her students.
