Congratulations to our two staff winners from our District 5 United Way Campaign. ACM competed against staff from other schools in the district to raise donations for the United Way Community Impact fund. Internally, ACM hosted a raffle for a front row parking spot (won by SLP Mrs. Wienkle) and a stocked teacher tailgate basket (won by our amazing bookkeeper, Svetlana).
We are so proud of our adult Wolves for seeing a need and participating with generosity. ACM staff raised over $2,300 for United Way!
We are excited to recognize Ms. Dillingham as our Pack Leader of the Month for October. Ms. Dillingham challenges her students to grow, offers incentives to keep them motivated and thoughtfully uses data to guide her instruction. Beyond the classroom, she takes on extra duties and supports staff in countless ways. Her commitment to students and staff makes her a valuable member of our Wolfpack!
8th Grade ELA students in Ms. Pierce’s class wrapped up Unit 1 by creating their very own Six-Word Memoirs!
After exploring identity, personal experiences, and the moments that shape who we are, students were challenged to tell a meaningful story using just SIX words!

Each month, staff members celebrate one another through “Seen at ACMS” cards. Congratulations to Mrs. Phillips, our September random drawing winner! She was recognized for coming in early, working during lunch and staying late to support students. Her dedication to helping every student succeed makes a difference in our Wolfpack!
Mr. Watson’s 6th-grade AVID students just wrapped up their unit on the 5 Phases of the Focused Note-Taking Process in the most delicious way possible!
After independently researching and taking detailed Cornell notes on the science of making homemade ice cream without a churn, students put Phase 5 (Applying Learning) into action today. They used their own written guides to measure, mix, and freeze their sweet treats. Talk about taste-testing your own success! 🧠✨
Mrs. Kay’s 6th grade math class used chalk drawings to show equivalent fractions, convert between improper fractions and mixed numbers, and add fractions with different denominators.

Students in Mrs. Williams’ PLTW 7th grade classes put their communication skills to the test today. Students used an elevator pitch to present the giant board games they created, using at least 2 forms of persuasion to convince their peers that their game was worth playing. Students also provided peer feedback to help their friends improve their games.
Congrats to our very own 6th grader, Luke Smith! He came in 3rd place overall and won the Big Fish award at the PBC High School fishing tournament this past Saturday at Lake Murray!
