Congratulations to our 8th grade football team who won tonight against Carver! They went their entire middle school career undefeated and won back to back championships! Big News Wolf Fans!!! Our undefeated 8th graders will be playing in the championship game against Carver on Thursday at Nixon Field! The game begins at 7:00! Bring your friends and family and be ready to cheer! It will be a game to remember! (All tickets for adults and students will be $5 for this game.)

Wrestling season will begin on Monday November 2nd. Practices on November 2nd and 3rd will be 8:00-10:00am. Practices will begin after school on November 4th and will run 4:00-6:00 at Byrnes High School Wrestling room. Athletes must have an updated physical and all forms completed on Arbiter to be able to participate. Middle Schoolers and 9th graders can ride the activity bus over to Byrnes and then will need to be picked up at Byrnes at 6:00.

Middle School Girls Wrestling season starts November 2nd at 10:00 am at Byrnes High School. Meet in the Gym Lobby. If you are unable to attend November 2nd and 3rd you are still welcome to attend Nov 4th after school till 6:00pm. You can take the activity bus to Byrnes and meet in the same location. Athlete pick up after practice is at Byrnes High School Gym. (Our MS Girls wrestling team competes and practices against girls only.)

🎢 Our 8th graders wrapped up their Newton’s Laws unit with a little cardstock and a LOT of creativity! From designing blueprints to working together to build their roller coasters, students brought all three of Newton’s Laws to life and showcased the different forces acting on their marbles along the way. 🧠💡 Check out their incredible work and fun themes! These engineers took learning for quite a ride! 🎢👏

Thirty ACMS students had an opportunity to participate in the SCMEA Middle School clinics this past Friday. Students prepared music ahead of the clinic, then spent the day working with clinicians in voice-specific groups. The day ended with a concert, and we were very proud of Jack Gibson for being selected to sing in a small group on one of the pieces!

Next week is teacher Appreciation Week at ACMS! As we celebrate our amazing teachers, a few words of encouragement, a little appreciation, or a reminder that their hard work makes a difference can mean the world! Our teachers pour so much time, energy, and heart into helping our students learn and grow, and we want every teacher to feel valued and celebrated. If you’d like to participate in Teacher Appreciation Week, we encourage you to find a small way to let your child’s teacher know they matter. 8th graders love learning in the library! ❤️📚 Not only do students check out books, our fabulous librarians also help review skills we are learning in class, like conflict, through games. Learning is universal, no matter where you are! ❤️📚

Our English I students got an introduction to Romeo & Juliet 🎭👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 with a visit from the Wooden O from the Warehouse Theatre in Greenville! Through acting, pantomiming, and moving, students were introduced to the plot, the characters and their archetypes, and iambic pentameter. 📝 What a wonderful way to learn Shakespeare! 💪

Students helped Mrs. Spencer by being nosey to make inferences about people and situations. They combined prior knowledge and clues from the text (in this case trash) to make their inferences. A few brave students stuck their hands in to dig for clues!
