🦇🎃Last week, Mrs. Cielinski and Ms. Johnson's class practiced their sorting skills with bat and pumpkin pretzels! We are so proud of our little members of the pack! 🦇🎃
👀 ALL eyes on First Grade at Wellford!
This week, students in Ms. Walts' class were able to write a descriptive, informational flip book about an animal's eyeball of his/her choice. They brainstormed a list of adjectives to describe the eyeball, used a graphic organizer, and drafted several sentences about their animal's eyeball. The first graders also used PebbleGo and Google to research and illustrate their flip book. Once finished, the published copies are now displayed in the hallway for all to make a prediction: Whose Eye Is This? The students had fun with an eyeball bouncy ball and even ate an ooey gooey, squishy, sweet, marshmallow eyeball! Mmmm! 👁️

Sweet success! 🍦🎉 Mrs. Schmidt’s class earned an ice cream party yesterday to celebrate meeting their iReady goals! These hardworking students have been putting in the effort and it’s paying off in a big (and delicious) way. We’re so proud of you, Wolfpack! 🐺❤️
Ms. Rampersad’s class went on a scavenger hunt for test-taking strategies! 🕵️♀️💡 Students searched around the room to find tips and tricks to help them feel confident and prepared for upcoming assessments. Way to make learning fun and interactive, Wolfpack! 🐺✨

Our Wellford Academy artists are busy creating! 🎨 Our 4th graders are in the middle of a yarn project and will begin another next week, and our 2nd graders will be starting a yarn project in January. These hands-on activities give students the chance to express their creativity — but we need your help to make it even more colorful! 🌈
If you have any extra yarn at home that’s taking up space, please consider donating it to our art room. We’d love fun, bright colors to give students plenty of options for their masterpieces!
Donations can be dropped off in the front office or sent in with your student. Thank you for supporting creativity at Wellford Academy! ❤️🐺

📚🐾 Ms. Heffner’s 2nd graders had a special visitor today! Officer Wright stopped by to share a fun read-aloud with the class. Our students loved listening to the story and spending time with one of our favorite Wolfpack friends in uniform! 👮♂️❤️
🚒🔥 Our kindergarten students had an exciting morning with a special visit from the Duncan Fire Department! They loved learning about fire safety, exploring the fire truck, and meeting real firefighters. Thank you to the Duncan Fire Department for taking the time to teach our students how to stay safe and for being heroes in our community! ❤️👩🚒
🌲 Mrs. Collins’ 2nd graders are exploring the great outdoors—virtually! 🌎 Students learned all about National Parks and practiced their research skills using Magic School. They used Raina to help answer their questions and discover amazing facts about our country’s most beautiful places. 🏞️✨
💬 Ms. Watson’s friends are starting their day off right — getting ready for school and learning sign language to help with communication! 🧠💙 It’s amazing to see our students building important skills that help them connect, express themselves, and support one another every day. 🤟🐺
