Yesterday, Wellford Academy students and staff got to experience Discovery Kitchen, an interactive, food-focused tasting event!
This month’s theme was Plant Power, highlighting fresh, seasonal, and plant-based foods. Students had the opportunity to sample vegan chik’n nuggets paired with homemade chickpea ranch—a delicious, dairy-free twist made with chickpea mayo, fresh dill, shallots, apple cider vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, and black pepper.
It was a fun and tasty way to explore new flavors and learn more about plant-based eating! 🌿✨

Wellford Academy is proud to support Kidz in Lids, a campaign that helps children battling cancer. This Friday, students can donate $1 to wear their favorite hat all day at school! Every dollar raised goes toward helping families affected by pediatric cancer.

Calling all Future Tigers! DR Hill Orchestra, Band, and Percussion will be having instrument try-out days on March 20th and 27th from 5:00-7:00 at DR Hill! Come out and try strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion to see what instrument is right for you!

Do you have a child who will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025 or 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025? Now is the time to register! 📚✏️
🔴 Don’t wait! Screening dates for our 4K program will take place at the end of April/early May, so be sure to get your child registered now to secure a spot!

Wellford Academy has been buzzing with excitement as we celebrate all things STEAM! 🚀🎨🔬
We kicked off with a “Wacky Weather” STEAM Showcase last Friday, where students helped a worried Wesley the Wolf 🐺 problem-solve and prepare for extreme weather! 🌪️☀️❄️
The fun didn’t stop there! Our annual STEAM Family Night brought families together for hands-on learning with over 20 interactive STEAM stations! 🧪💡🤖 Thanks to Duke Energy and our amazing families for making it an unforgettable night filled with coding robots, fingerprint investigations, roller coaster engineering, and so much more! 🎢🔍🎮
The smiles, laughter, and curiosity were truly contagious! ❤️💡 We love seeing our Wolfpack explore, create, and discover through STEAM!
