This week, our 5th GT students held a Philosophical Chairs debate on Design Justification, using geometry and precise math language to defend their favorite logos--Publix v. Lowes Foods. After analyzing shapes, angles, symmetry, and design elements, Publix took the win!
💰 Coin experts in the making! Ms. Heffner’s 2nd graders practiced sorting mixed coins and finding their value. Way to count that cash! 🪙✨
We loved welcoming our board member representative, Meredith Gergley, to our school and truly enjoyed getting to meet her and spend time getting to know her.
Our Paw Patrol members, Multilingual Ambassadors, and forth grade students represented Wellford with so much pride as they shared what they love about our school and talked about the important responsibilities our fifth graders have—especially how they support our younger students and bilingual learners. We popped into classrooms and related arts to see teaching and learning in action, then enjoyed breakfast in the cafeteria while watching a student-created video highlighting all the things our students love about Wellford Academy.
Such a special morning celebrating the heart, leadership, and community that make Wellford so amazing! 💙🐾

🕵️♂️🔐 Ms. Rampersad’s 5th graders are cracking the code—literally! Today, students stepped into the role of historians as they decoded messages and learned about the Zimmerman Telegram. History comes alive when curiosity leads the way!

🧝♀️🎄 Fun in Ms. Williamson’s class today! Emma the Elf stopped by to read a story while students decorated Santa’s sleigh—holiday magic in action! ✨🎅
🚂❄️ First grade had a ticket to fun as they worked their way through Polar Express–themed stations in each classroom! Learning, laughter, and holiday magic all around! 🎄
🎶✨ Our Annual Sing Along filled the halls with Christmas cheer! We loved hearing our students spread joy through song. Special appearances by Ms. Goldsmith and Ms. Drummon’s kindergarten stars, a stunning solo by Ms. Coan with her amazing backup dancers, and a special 6–7 dance made it a celebration to remember! 🎄💃🕺🎤
