Ms. Marshall’s 3rd graders at Wellford Academy got creative just in time for Thanksgiving! 🦃✨ Their mission? Disguise their turkeys so they wouldn’t get eaten! From superheroes to fancy dress-ups, these clever creations are too good to gobble. Great job, everyone!
🎨🦃 Mrs. Blanton’s 3rd graders at Wellford Academy put their creativity on display! After working on descriptive writing, they brought their words to life by painting colorful turkeys. These masterpieces are as vibrant and unique as their stories! 📝💡 Great job, 3rd grade!
🌟 Students in Mrs. Fortenberry’s Project Lead the Way are solving real-world (and space!) problems through hands-on learning! 🚀✨
They’ve explored weather safety and the effects of the sun, created moon rocks and moon sand from kitchen materials, coded Indi-bots through space and natural disasters, and even built safety structures for animals! 🌪️🌙🛠️
From interactive NASA moon models to weather experiments and space buggies, our students are mastering SC standards and Science & Engineering Practices while having a blast! 🌈🎉

Our 4th-grade classrooms had a special treat today as six members of the management team from Walmart Distribution Center joined us as guest readers! They shared a heartfelt story about gratitude and generously left a copy of the book as a gift for each class.

☕ Building Skills, One Cup at a Time!
This year, our modified special education class at Wellford Academy is focusing on life skills like introducing themselves, taking orders, and responding appropriately. These important lessons are being put into practice through our beloved coffee cart program, which was a huge success last year!
Through the coffee cart, our students interact with teachers they might not have met before, growing their confidence, communication, and social skills. Their hard work and dedication have made such an impact, and we’re thrilled to see their progress again this year.
Plus, with their earnings, the students will get to enjoy an exciting field trip at the end of the year—a well-deserved celebration of their achievements! 🥳
🌱✨ Exciting growth at Wellford Academy! ✨🌱 We've partnered with Lettuce Grow x Ozobot to bring STEM learning to life with a hydroponic Farmstand and innovative Ozobot curriculum! Students are growing green beans, lettuce varieties, spearmint, cilantro, and flowers indoors while learning about plant growth, nutrition, and sustainability. With 24 planting ports and Glow Ring® lighting, the Farmstand provides a hands-on way for young learners to observe the entire growing process—from seeds to harvest. We're thrilled to cultivate curiosity and inspire environmentally conscious, healthy habits in our students. 🌿💡

Our Girls on the Run club has been putting in the work, practicing twice a week for the past 8 weeks, and now they’re ready to shine at their 5K in Greenville this Saturday! 💪🌟 We’re so proud of their dedication, teamwork, and grit as they’ve trained for this big day.
