🚀 STEM on the Go! 🧪🔬
Our 4th graders had an exciting visit today from the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics! The STEM on the Go program brought hands-on learning right to our classrooms, sparking curiosity and creativity through fun, engaging science and engineering activities.
From experimenting with circuits to solving real-world challenges, our students were all in—and we loved seeing their faces light up with discovery!

Today, our 3rd–5th graders got a glimpse into their future possibilities during Career Day—and the excitement was off the charts! 🎉 Students had the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths and hear directly from professionals who are passionate about what they do.
From a transportation police officer 🚓 to an NFL scout 🏈, a 3D printing designer 🖨️ to a beautician 💇♀️, and a pilot ✈️ to a college admissions officer 🎓—our school was buzzing with inspiration and curiosity.

Screenings for our 4K Program begin at the end of April, and all children must be screened to be considered for acceptance. Spots are limited, so it’s critical to register NOW to secure a screening appointment!

🌱 Discovery Kitchen Pop-Up: Plant Power! 🌱
Yesterday, Wellford Academy students and staff got to experience Discovery Kitchen, an interactive, food-focused tasting event!
This month’s theme was Plant Power, highlighting fresh, seasonal, and plant-based foods. Students had the opportunity to sample vegan chik’n nuggets paired with homemade chickpea ranch—a delicious, dairy-free twist made with chickpea mayo, fresh dill, shallots, apple cider vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, and black pepper.
It was a fun and tasty way to explore new flavors and learn more about plant-based eating! 🌿✨
