Our 5th graders explored the wonders of the Star Lab with Roper Mountain Science Center, while our 3rd graders learned all about force through a hands-on presentation. The students had a blast discovering the universe and diving into science right here at school! 🌌🔍

🚨 Important Announcement 🚨
Due to power outages and storm debris still in the area, Wellford Academy will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, October 8. Please note the following schedule adjustments:
🚌 Buses will run 2 hours later than normal.
🏫 School doors will open at 9:00 AM.
🍎 Breakfast will be served from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
⏰ Students will be considered tardy after 9:30 AM.

Due to the potential impact of Hurricane Helene, Friday, September 27, will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students and staff. All schools and buildings will be closed on Friday. School will continue as normal on Thursday, September 26, but we will not have after-school programs.
Please note: all after-school programs and activities have also been canceled for Thursday and Friday.

Our teachers know how to have fun and compete! Throughout the day, teachers had a friendly game of Rock, Paper, Scissors for a chance to win a coveted Starbucks gift card! The winner of the game got the necklaces and the person with the most at our faculty meeting won! 🙌✨

🌟best 🌟attributes of Wellford Academy. We are looking for staff members who are thoughtful, enthusiastic, team players, and genuinely positive about our school. We will present someone with this award each month from now until May. Staff members may nominate any staff member (teacher, assistant, custodian, etc.)

A couple of the nominations received: "Ms. Horne truly pours herself into her classroom and our fourth grade team each day!
