February 15th was National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and we are so excited to celebrate Officer Brooks! He works so hard to keep our students and staff safe and we are so thankful to have him as part of the TRE family. 🚓

To celebrate Valentine's Day, fourth graders in Ms. Gillespie and Dr. Jackson's classes recognized those who help the students every day at Tyger River Elementary--our custodians, cafeteria staff, and office staff.
Their "Serve with Love" project was an amazing opportunity for students to give back to those who work so hard to keep our school running smoothly. They decorated the cafeteria and served brunch to recognize the hard work of others.

Books are an open world, packed full of hidden achievements—and book fair gift cards make discovery all the more rewarding! (Students can use gift cards at the book fair instead of bringing cash to school.)
Encourage your student to find their next favorite read: add a digital gift card to their inventory at literati.com/store. These legendary items also make great teacher gifts!

The following Tyger River students sang in the South Carolina Elementary Honor Choir is past weekend: Henry Noble, Priya Bonner, Taylor Cobb, Colbie Barker, Addie Crisp and Parker Crisp.
Their music teacher, Mrs. Linaman is so proud of their hard work to prepare six difficult songs for the concert.

Emerging research suggests that the food we eat can affect our mental well-being. To help students learn what foods may help them feel their personal best; Chartwell’s student-favorite program, Mood Boost, is back!
Designed by our Culinary Innovation Council, this innovative program focuses on 6 categories of moods: Alert, Calm, Confident, Happy, Smart, and Strong. Join us in the Café to meet the Moodies and taste our delicious, mood-focused recipes.

We couldn't let #NationalSchoolCounselingWeek pass without taking a moment to recognize our amazing School Counselor, Mrs. Ru-an Williams! 👏🏻
Mrs. Williams works so hard to take care of the students and staff at TRE. From classroom visits to recognizing our TRE ticket winners and Terrific Kids, Mrs. Williams is always helping someone!
Thank you for all you do for the Terrier family. 💙 🐾 💚

Our fifth graders had an amazing time on their field trip to the Roper Mountain Science Center! They learned about science with fun, interactive activities. 🐍⛰️🔭

The winner of our canned food drive is...Kindergarten!
They were the first grade that reached 100 donated food items.
The TRE Rock has been decorated by our art teacher, Nancy Mabry, to celebrate kindergarten’s donation.

Did you know that TRE has a Blessing Box?
The TRE Blessing Box is located at the end of the covered walkway in front of the school. Families that need food assistance can take whatever they need. The food has been donated by students and staff. The food items in the Blessing Box can be used for family meals. 🍝🍲🌮

Ms. Allison, our instructional technology coach, did a lesson with first grade yesterday using Beebots to practice numbers 1-120. 🤖
Students had fun learning how to use the Beebots and programming it to count forwards and backwards.

The Terriers had a great 100th day of school! Mrs. Rosillo's second grade class built towers out of 100 pieces of pasta and marshmallows! They had a blast!

Our digital book fair is open! You can shop on our Literati store before our book fair opens to see even more great educational books and games. Check out our digital fair using this link: https://literati.com/store/?school=tiger-river-elementary-school-duncan-sc

The 100th day of school is coming! To celebrate 100 amazing days of school, we are challenging each grade level to collect 100 non-perishable food items by Friday, January 24. Students can begin bringing items on Tuesday.

The RoboTerriers Lego Robotics team season has begun! Our students got to know each other by playing fun lego games and began assembling the robotics pieces for our season.

The faculty and staff of TRE and their families had so much fun playing in the snow! ❄️☃️ 🌨️
