It's National School Counselor week and we are ever so grateful that Ms. Rozman is ours!

BINGO Night was a blast yesterday evening! 💥 Thank you all for joining us for family fun and games! Also, a big thanks to our RVES PTO for hosting. We couldn't do it without you all! 🚀

🚀In math today, Fabian’s Fishies 🐠 read aloud the story “10 Galub Janums” a book about Indian sweet treats! 🍭 We read the story, made our own “Galub Janums” using play dough, and decomposed 10 using a tens frame. 🔟 Early finishers got to listen and dance to children’s Indian music!🎶

January is School Board Member Appreciation Month, and here in D5, we truly have some of the best! ✨ Mrs. Gergley came to visit with our Student Action Committee last week and heard some of their ideas. Yesterday evening, she was honored, alongside other board members, with a special book picked out just for her. 📚 We are so grateful to have the support that we do at Reidville Elementary School! 🚀

Our 💯 day of school was packed full of activities revolving around 1️⃣ 0️⃣ 0️⃣! We had snacks, completed all sorts of activities and of course, dressed in style! 🚀

Due to potential weather related concerns this evening, we will be postponing our Bingo Night until Tuesday, January 28th. We hope to see you there!

Thank you Roper Mountain Science Center for hosting our fifth graders! 🌍

Today was National SRO Appreciation Day and we were more than happy to make sure that Officer Fowler was recognized in each and every classroom!! 🚀 Thank you, Officer Fowler, for helping to keep our school safe and create a positive environment for our families! 💙

Please see our new schedule for our Rocket Round Up for Quarter 2!

🚀Mrs. Rudd’s fifth grade students learned how to be eco detectives yesterday. 🔍 They also used their time at Roper Mountain Science Center to learn about conservation! 🌍

Due to a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service, all District Five Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 10. ❄️ Friday, January 10 will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students. 💻 This decision was made in the best interest of safety for all D5 students and staff, as snow, sleet and ice is predicted by late Friday morning, and roads will likely be unsafe for buses, families or student drivers to travel 🚌❄️🚗
Teachers will be in touch with students regarding all e-Learning assignments 📚📝. All after school and weekend activities are also canceled.📆
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as safety is always our top priority in District Five! #WeAreD5

Secure your child's yearbook before the rate goes up!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours. We hope you will enjoy this time with your families and hold your loved ones close. We will see you back bright and early on Tuesday, January 7th!

Our Reidville Chorus spread Christmas cheer for all to hear yesterday on their trip around Spartanburg. It was truly a JOY to hear them sing!

Mrs. Carovillanos third graders worked on winter coding today with Sphero Mini bots. 🤖 Students used block or drawing codes from their computers to move their bot through different puzzles and mazes! ☃️

⛄️ Snowball fight with math facts and snowman snacks! First grade had a snowy day! ❄️

This year we are proud to announce our holiday card winners! A winner was selected from each grade level, first through fifth. We are so excited to showcase their artwork on our card. Congratulations Rockets!

Mrs. Gray's classes are having fun with a little financial literacy lesson using percents and money. 💰 Students purchased their gingerbread materials, making sure to calculate tax and find the exact total, calculate the area and perimeter of the sides, and build their gingerbread houses. 🌲
