Mrs. Millan’s rocket time group has been working hard to apply many math skills to build their own food truck through a PBL. 📚 Students created their own branding & marketing, created a menu to represent their theme, used scaling to scale recipes to serve items, came up with price ranges for scaled recipes using prices from local ads, used a budget to buy supplies for the start up of their food truck, and used area, perimeter, and volume to create blue prints and build replicas of their trucks. 🛻 Mrs. Millan’s rocket group took on this real life project and worked so hard to apply their math knowledge! 🚀

That tricky Leprechaun ☘️ came back to room 207 this year! Fabian’s Fishies 🐟 Leprechaun didn’t catch him, but we did read clues to find the treasures he left behind for us! Great work scholars! 🚀

We had a VERY sneaky Leprechaun sneak into Mrs. Mooneyhan’s room early this morning! 🍀 He left a behind a mess! He even knocked down our treasure box!! 🪙 However, he did leave a box of treats and work for us! 🍬 We enjoyed graphing Lucky charms and some students even made a Leprechaun trap during indoor recess! 🚀

We concluded our Tell Me a Story unit today in 1st grade with a fairy tale dress up day! 🧚 We wrote clues about our character and read our clues to our classmates to guess who we were! During the unit we compared the different perspectives of fairy tales, compared fairy tales and fables, retold stories using story elements, and even published our own fairy tales and narrative stories. 📚 And every celebration needs a snack so we made fairy bread! ✨

It was READ ACROSS AMERICA week and Reidville had a ROYALLY good time. 🥀 We enjoyed KONA Ice and "bring your things in anything but a book bag day", wacky tacky day and finished out the week with book buddies and tea time. 🫖

The RVES Harry Potter Book Club is proudly participating in Dr. Gary's Reading Challenge! At our most recent meeting, we dove into the next chapter of our books and logged our reading minutes together as a team. Moments like this remind us that reading can be truly magical, sparking imagination, friendship, and a lifelong love of books.

We had an un-bear-ably amazing Bear Week in 4K!
Our classroom was filled with excitement as students brought their favorite teddy bears to school to join in the fun. These special furry friends didn’t just sit and watch — they participated in all our learning activities right alongside us!
We kicked off the week with a thrilling bear hunt, where students and their teddy bears explored, problem-solved, and used lots of imagination. The giggles and teamwork made it an adventure to remember!
Storytime was extra special with a read-aloud of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Students practiced retelling the story using felt pieces, helping build sequencing, comprehension, and storytelling skills. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they became the storytellers!
On Friday, we celebrated with a cozy Teddy Bear Picnic inside our very own “bear cave.” Students enjoyed delicious teddy bear-themed snacks they helped make, practiced following directions, and worked together to prepare our picnic treats.
Throughout the week, our teddy bears even “helped” us learn — sitting with us during lessons, encouraging participation, and making each activity just a little more special.
We loved every bear-y minute of Bear Week!
