We are already working hard to present The Lion King this spring! 🦁

It was an inspiring week in first grade learning literacy through fun seasonal activities! 🍎 🍏 🚀 Our young learners discovered how local helpers collaborate for the greater good and get apples from farm to table! 🍎 They also learned about adjectives and used those words to write a descriptive writing about apples! They made homemade applesauce and wrote a how to writing to share with their families! 📚 They also read a book about the life cycle of an apple then made a hat! 🧢

D.E.A.R. Drop Everything And Read during rocket time last Friday with Mrs. Burgess! 🚀

As a reminder, D5 has a Staff Workday on Friday, October 2nd. Students have a long weekend and will report back to school on Monday, October 5th. Enjoy your extra day!

Today Mrs. Martin's class transformed their room into a Kindergarten Counting Cafe to wrap up their Math Unit! 🚀 Students took turns being the chef following recipes and serving their friends, who sorted and counted what was in their baskets! 👩🏻‍🍳👨🏽‍🍳🍝

🚀 This week, Mrs. Clark’s class read Being Different Rocks and celebrated what makes each of us unique! 📚 Our students collaborated as they learned fun things about their classmates, rocked out with our guitars , and painted their very own rocks to show and celebrate their differences. 🎸

Mrs. Watchorn's class did walk and write while learning their letters and illustrating. ✍️ We also shared our stories and pictures about Johnny Appleseed. 🍎

✨ The Muse Machine ✨ came out to Reidville this week and it was a blast! 🚀

Fabian’s Fishies have been celebrating so many of our friends! Two scholars already got “knighted” as Super Readers 👑📚! Some other leaders in our classroom have made it to our “Victory Wall” of excellence!  Congratulations!🎉

Don't forget, Wednesday, September 23rd is an EARLY RELEASE DAY. Students will dismiss at 11:30. The Reidville After School program will not operate this day, so parents please plan accordingly and notify the office of transportation changes for your student as soon as possible.

Fabian’s Fishies 🐟 finished all their work this week and enjoyed a fun Friday with math stations practicing numbers to 10! 🧮

It's National School IT Professionals Day and we are here to celebrate the awesomeness that is our very own IT, HAILEY OWENS! We are so thankful for her dedication to making sure we are all ready to start each day with what we need. She is always on it and comes with a smile and a cheerful attitude. Thank you, Hailey!

☕📚 Once Upon a Latte was open for business in fourth grade! 📚☕ Our fourth grade writers celebrated their hard work with a special Publishing Party! Their classrooms transformed into cozy cafés where students shared their writing, read one another’s stories, and celebrated all they have accomplished as authors. ✏️✨ We are so proud of our talented fourth grade writers and the creativity, effort, and heart they poured into their work! ☕🤎📖
