Due to a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service, all District Five Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 10. ❄️ Friday, January 10 will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students. 💻 This decision was made in the best interest of safety for all D5 students and staff, as snow, sleet and ice is predicted by late Friday morning, and roads will likely be unsafe for buses, families or student drivers to travel 🚌❄️🚗

Summer reading for 8th grade English 1 Honors students at D.R. Hill Middle is required. All students must read the book of his/her choice by the first day of school and take a written test during the first two weeks of the course. In addition to a written test, students must also be prepared for in-depth group discussion and analysis that leads to a culminating performance task.
