In Mrs. Campbell's sixth grade Flight and Space class, students are learning how to make flight schedules using Gantt charts. They spent time creating their own Gantt charts making a schedule with what they do after school.

Students in Mrs. Campbell's seventh grade Medical Detectives class are creating neuron models out of craft supplies. They are learning the different parts of the neurons and will create GIFs sharing how messages move through them.

Mrs. Russo and Mrs. Deleu’s eighth grade English class worked in small groups to analyze the poem Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost. As part of their book study of The Outsiders by S.E. Mrs. Bowles class celebrated the end of their unit about matter by making ice cream. They were able see energy transformations, phase changes and endothermic reactions.

Mrs. Waters Science classes - In this hands-on project, students designed and built their own roller coasters, all while showcasing Newton’s Laws of Motion. From demonstrating inertia with sharp turns, to illustrating force and acceleration with steep drops, each coaster model provides a fun and interactive way to see the laws of motion in action.

Teacher's are having fun dressing up for Underground Spirit Week! We loved wearing our Holidy Attire.

In Mrs. Taylor’s 8th grade Geometry class, students explored translations through a hands-on activity using a life-size coordinate plane. By becoming the points themselves, they deepened their understanding of vectors and transformations. Great job tigers!

Mr. Swann's 8th grade science classes are wrapping up their study of Newton's laws of motion by creating roller coasters! In small groups, they are working together to design a blueprint, gather necessary materials and then develop their plan into a 3D model. Students will use a marble to test their roller coasters and compete for the best design. Winning roller coasters will be placed on display in the DRH library.

Mrs. Bowles’s 7th grade science classes reviewed recent test results. They discussed results data and corrected most commonly missed questions. Students defended the correct answers with evidence in small groups. They also discussed test taking strategies like eliminating incorrect answers, recognizing content vocabulary and reading all answer choices to determine the best answer.
