BIG NEWS! 📣 D.R. Hill is officially a 2025-2026 John W. Harris Leadership Award winner! 🏆✨

National Beta selected our club as one of only five in the nation to receive this honor. Whether it’s serving meals, hosting supply drives, leading conservation initiatives, continuing literacy partnerships, our students are leading the way with heart and hustle.

The DR Hill 7th and 8th Grade Orchestra earned a SUPERIOR rating at Concert Performance Assessment last Friday! Students performed their prepared pieces beautifully, and had a near perfect sight reading performance earning 24/25 points. Congratulations to these students on this achievement! 🎻

Being selected for the SCBDA All-State Band is a tremendous honor, and we are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and musicianship. Way to represent DRH with excellence!

Mrs. Taylor’s 8th grade Geometry students created Trigonometry Flipbooks to help them learn and remember SOHCAHTOA. 📐 Along with a catchy song, this hands-on study tool breaks down sine, cosine, and tangent to help with the rest of our Trigonometry unit. Great work, tigers!

D.R. Hill wants to highlight our amazing Teachers! For Teacher Appreciation this month, we celebrate: - Ms. Allen - Ms. Parlier - Ms. Cannon - Ms. Leonard - Dr. Schoch - Mr. Poteat - Ms. Cotterman - Ms. Steighner - Ms. Lyda and our Presidential Award Recipient, Ms. Armstrong! We love our teachers, because our teachers love The Hill!

Mrs. Howard’s World Civilizations classes wrapped up their unit on the Industrial Revolution and Imperialism with a delicious "assembly line" experience. After studying production methods from the early 1900s to our local BMW plant, students celebrated early Pi Day (March 14th) with some Moon Pies!

Fun Fact: Moon Pies were created in 1917—the same year the U.S. entered WWI. It’s a perfect transition as these students gear up to start their WWI unit next week! 🎖️

Excitement is hatching on The Hill! The science department has partnered with Spartanburg Extension Services and 4-H to incubate and hatch chickens. Students will be learning about embryology and applying classroom lessons from the year to the hatching process. Be on the look out for updates!!

Breaking Bread for Jesus

Student Scientists in Mrs. Bowles class modeled the effects of biodiversity in ecosystems and learned how monocultures lead to low sustainability. The Student Scientists will use their knowledge to create a plan for a new national park that will balance biodiversity and ecological services.
