Ms. Stom’s math classes created a graphic organizer in groups using their notes on integer operations.
Mrs. Brown's class worked with Mrs. Lyda, our Media Specialist, in the lbrary. Student's learned how to use Book Creator to create digital books using conflict and plot.
AVID Elective students participated in a List-Group-Label strategy as an introduction to the Focused Note Taking unit. After listing types of note taking inside and outside of school, students grouped and labeled them. Next week all classes will review each other's work.
Sixth and seventh grade AVID students participated in team building exercises on Friday. Today's Scooter Cup Challenge winners were 7th Grade at 36 seconds followed by 6th grade with 53 seconds. Way to go teams!!!

Mrs. Robinson’s 6th grade Woodwinds and Mr. Cotter’s 6th grade Brass came together for their very first combined rehearsal today! They are having a great time learning all about their instruments and reading music!
Students in Ms. Stackhouse's class used gothic sensory details and vivid imagery to create a text-based floor plan of the home in Julio Cortazar’s short story, “House Taken Over”.
In Mrs. Waters’ class, students were actively engaged in a hands-on lab investigating the speed of an object to create motion graphs.
Future Christian Student's (FCS) had a great time sharing and interacting with their classmates this mornig!
D.R. Hill's Theatre Department had their first read through for James and the Giant Peach Jr opening on February 12, 2026!

Orchestra students and families join us for our D5 Orchestra Skate Night on Wednesday, October 8th from 6-8pm at Roebuck Skate Center. A guardian must accompany middle school students. Siblings and parents are also welcome to skate! $10 per person at the door. Pizza and drink included. Only $5 for D5 Orchestra students. This will be our 5th annual Start Up GVL Drive gameday event where we celebrate innovation & entrepreneurship all throughout the region, and help inspire our community’s next generation entrepreneurs.
This year’s #StartupGVL Night event will be filled with interactive and engaging experiences spotlighting innovation & entrepreneurship throughout the community. Specifically, we invite you to walk the Fluor Field concourse to experience…
1. Showcase exhibits from Ducklinks, Tabbi, WAVS, and Humimic
2. A special edition of Village Launch’s Entrepreneurship Market – highlighting women & minority owned businesses throughout our community
3. A walk-through experience of our community’s Entrepreneurial Support Organizations – an overview of all the resources available in our community that enable entrepreneurs to succeed
4. Innovation-centric exhibits from long-term Drive partners Milliken as well as the Hill Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship
5. Exhibits from Greenville County Schools and Christ Church -- showcasing various innovation and entrepreneurship-specific resources and programs across our community’s schools
In addition, the Drive game itself will be filled with content spotlighting innovation, entrepreneurship, and Start Up activity all throughout our region.
