Today Ms. Johnson's flex class talked about respect, and how it looks, sounds, and feels. Students put their ideas on sticky notes and added them to the poster.
Collaboration is key! 🔑 Students in Miss. Hall’s class came up with their own definitions for parts of a map. They then looked at what their classmates had come up with & added that to their notes!!

🩺⛑️Students in Dr. Kirkland's Medical Detective Class have been learning about Vital Signs. Taking blood pressure, respiratory rate, temperature, and pulse. Students then followed the Experimental Design to perform the Jumping Jacks Experiment. The students identified the problem statement/question "Does performing jumping jacks for one minute increase respiratory rate?"
Dr. Kirkland's Automation & Robotic students learned how to build a simple gear train and program the prototype to turn couterclockwise. 🕕🕦🕐

Audition Announcement! We are excited to announce that the BSMS Theatre Department will be putting on Disney Frozen Jr! Auditions will be Tuesday, August 20th and Thursday, August 22nd. Students who wish to audition will need to pick up an audition form from Mrs. Sosa and turn in their guardian-signed permission form no later than Friday, August 16th. Audition forms will be placed outside of the Theatre room for Meet the Teacher and can also be picked up during the first four days of school.

Our teachers went to the District Five Schools of Spartanburg County Fine Arts Center this morning and listened to Erin Gruwell, who was the founder of Freedom Writers Foundation. They left feeling powered up & inspired to tackle this year!

Mrs. McCrary's classes finished up in the lab today. They researched and created structures to withstand natural disasters and tested them out to see if they would withstand the forces. They put their knowledge of the engineering process to use! Great job!
The RTI team celebrated Principal Appreciation Day by honoring Dr. Williams with cards and gifts. Before, she could open her gifts, she had to complete a reading and math activity. She aced them! 💯
