Ms. Johnson’s 6th grade historians traveled back in time to the Stone Age! Students stepped into the shoes of early humans and created their own cave art by the light of a campfire, just as people did thousands of years ago! 🔥Afterward, her historians reflected on their experience and wrote about their artwork, sharing what they created, why they chose their subject, and what they learned. 💭 What a fun way to experience history, think like a historian, and Go Be Great! 💜

Starting tomorrow, Byrnes will hold Boys Open Wrestling Season on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00-5:30. 🤼 7th and 8th-grade boys may ride the athletic bus to Byrnes. Ms. Johnson’s Social Studies classes worked together to find answers to questions on their study guide as they prepared for their upcoming unit test on the Stone Age & Mesopotamia. Students collaborated, shared their knowledge, and helped one another strengthen their understanding. 📚 Working together, supporting one another, and giving our best effort are all part of what it means to GO BE GREAT! 🐾💜

Our Theatre department will be holding auditions for our Spring Musical, The Addams Family Musical: young@part on September 14th, 15th, and 17th until 4:30 P.M. 🎭
Students will need to attend all three audition days in order to receive a role, and can pick up an audition form outside of the Theatre Room. E-mail deandra.sosa@spart5.net with any questions. 🐾

From the page to the stage! 🎭 Mrs. Sosa’s Theatre 7 class kicked off script work with their scene partners today. They're analyzing character motives and personality traits to bring their roles to life. Big thinking, big creativity, and lots of hard work! 🎉

With volleyball season officially underway, it’s time to begin recognizing our Athlete of the Week! Our first Athlete of the Week this year is Mikayla M. Mikayla plays on the Volleyball team and this week, she stepped into a new position and has shown tremendous effort. 🏐 We were really impressed with her skill, teamwork, and positive attitude at last nigjt’s scrimmage. 🔥 Congratulations Mikayla! 🐾💜

Mrs. Watson’s Social Studies students spent the day analyzing different types of maps. 🗺️ They were able to discover how the purpose of a map determines the information it includes. Great work, students! 🐾 #PantherNation

Today, Mrs. Ferraris’ classes used money and menus to add and subtract decimals. ➕➖💵

Mrs. Moore’s students are putting their measuring skills to work as they explore, create, and learn through a colorful hands-on science activity! 🧪📏🌈 A little curiosity, a little creativity, and a whole lot of learning!

Ms. Shuler’s 7th grade ELA classes worked on identifying figurative language within passages and discussing how it enhanced the story. 📖 After the students were comfortable with definitions and application, they came up with their own examples and created puzzles to help them memorize the concepts. 🧩 Way to go, students!

Open season for Boys Wrestling will begin Wednesday September 2. Practices will be in the wrestling room at Byrnes High School and will run 4:00-5:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the month of September.

Middle school athletes can ride the activity bus over for these workouts.
