DUNCAN, S.C. — With Byrnes High School earning a top-four seed in the Class 5A Division I playoffs, the Rebels will enjoy a first-round bye and will not play on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. Byrnes will instead host the winner of Rock Hill vs. Spring Valley in the second round on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
Byrnes Football, which typically airs on The Fan Upstate (97.1 FM Spartanburg / 97.7 FM Greenville), will move to NewsTalk 98.9 WORD for the Nov. 14 broadcast due to a scheduling conflict. The Fan Upstate, also the flagship station for Furman Basketball, will air the Paladins’ basketball game that evening.
Listeners can tune in to NewsTalk 98.9 WORD (98.9 FM) to catch all the action. The 100,000-watt signal covers much of the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. Fans can also listen nationwide through the Audacy and iHeartRadio apps by searching “98.9 WORD.”
The Byrnes Football Pregame Show will begin at 7 p.m., followed by kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
