Let's get to know Lauren Francis! A little bit about her… She is originally from Simpsonville, SC. She is a lover of books and all things Disney! Some may also say that she is a Swiftie! Her husband, Daniel, works at Spartanburg Community College. She has a three-year-old daughter named Eleanor. She has two dogs (a French Bulldog and a Labradoodle), Joanna "JoJo" and Marigold "Gold Gold." She just recently got a Holland Lop rabbit, and her name is Thumper because she just needed one more thing to take care of. Haha! What inspired her to become a teacher? She grew up in a family of educators, but she absolutely hated middle school as a child. She wants to be that teacher that shapes a child's middle school experience. Also, she's an avid reader, and if she can be that teacher that introduces a child to a book genre they enjoy and love learning, then she has done her job. The love of reading is the greatest gift that she can give a child. What is one interesting fact about her? She lived in Munich, Germany for two years. While she was living over there, she went to England and visited the official studios of the Harry Potter movies! What is she most excited about next year? First, she is SO excited to be at Abner Creek Middle School! She has heard WONDERFUL things about Abner Creek Middle School and Spartanburg District 5. She is excited to grow more as an educator and learn from some amazing future mentors at Abner Creek.

We have some more amazing people to share with you! Welcome to the pack Mr. Harper! Now, to get to know him! He is originally from Walhalla, SC. He completed his undergraduate degree at Limestone University while competing as part of their Wrestling Team. He completed his Masters in Teaching at Converse University and his Education Specialist Degree at Arkansas State University. He currently resides in the Woodruff area with his wife, two children, four dogs, and cat. He enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and watching NCAA Wrestling and NFL Football. What inspired him to become a teacher? The opportunity to serve others and help others find and learn about something new that could help guide them to success. What is one interesting fact about him? As a wrestling coach he coached the only Female Wrestler to ever win a SCHSL State Championship against all male competition in the history of South Carolina. What is he most excited about next year? He is excited about the opportunity to work with the Abner Creek Middle School community to continue to build a culture of excellence, and the opportunity to serve the students, faculty, and staff as we all work to help each other achieve success.
