Let's get to know Ms. Feix! A little bit about her… She grew up in Michigan and went to Michigan State University. She has taught for 10 years (9 years was 6th grade Social Studies at Beck Academy). She and her husband have a 6 month old son named Colton. What inspired her to become a teacher? She wanted to become a teacher since the first grade. She wanted to teach history because so many people find it to be inaccessible and boring, so she wanted to be able to change that. What is she most excited about next year? She is excited to be in a new school where she can get to know everyone and learn from them!

Young poets in Mrs. Quinby’s 6th grade class have been hard at work! Over the past few weeks, with the help of Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Henson, students have been writing, editing, and revising their own original poems—each one a unique expression of their creativity and voice. On Monday, they shared their work with their classmates and families at the Poetry Café.

One more teacher introduction! Let's get to know Ms. Skinner! A little bit about her… She is from the Greer area and went to Blue Ridge High School. After graduating, she got her education degree at North Greenville University. She graduated in May of 2023 and has been working at Dawkins Middle School in Spartanburg 6 for the last two years! What inspired her to become a teacher? She has always loved working with kids! She worked part time at a preschool/daycare in high school and college and decided to major in education. She originally wanted to teach elementary school, but she quickly realized during her placements that she liked the middle school content and age group the most! What is she most excited about next year? She is most excited about meeting new people and working closer to the community that she lives in!

Proud is an understatement for these students in Mrs. Bo’s ELA class. Each link of this chain represents a book read. As a reward students celebrated with a pajama party for their reading determination.
