Thursday morning #twinning!
Have a great day!

Just because we’re staying cozy at home doesn’t mean learning has to freeze 🥶 - Mrs. Jung shared some simple experiments for all students to try on our frozen eLearning day. ❄️

The new ACA Lego Robotics 🤖 team had their first meeting this afternoon. Students are excited to “dive” into this season of the Lego Submerged Challenge. They will be working together to build the Lego robotics components and will compete 🦾 in a district competition later this spring.

Our staff was awarded with breakfast 🍳 and cake 🧁 from the District Office for having 100% participation in contributing to United Way. Way to go, Gators! 🐊

The ACA Story Arcade Book Fair is coming soon! The digital book fair is open now. Shop the Literati store before our book fair opens to see even more great educational books and games.

Yesterday, Mrs. Watson’s 5th grade homeroom competed in a spaghetti 🍝 noodle tower building challenge during Mr Clement’s visit to the STEM studio. Students had to work together to build the tallest tower that sustained the weight of a marshmallow in just 18 minutes.⏱️ They had a lot of fun showing off the engineering design process!

Congratulations 🎉 to our most recent “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” winner - Second Grade Teacher Madison Zdenek! 🍎
Her nominations said:
Mrs. Zdenek goes above and beyond to make her classroom a cozy and welcoming environment. 💙 She is always friendly to everyone around her despite any hardship happening, and I enjoy working with her and her bright 💡 students so much!
Madison Zdenek loves ❤️ her children, and knows I do too! She shares important things about our students with me.

In honor of ELearning tomorrow and a chance for snow - Mrs. Watsons 5th graders did a Snowflake STEM Challenge ❄️

Gator Patrol was ready for duty on this cold morning!

Twinning with the best library teacher! 📚

Due to a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service, all District Five Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 10. ❄️ Friday, January 10 will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students. 💻 This decision was made in the best interest of safety for all D5 students and staff, as snow, sleet and ice is predicted by late Friday morning, and roads will likely be unsafe for buses, families or student drivers to travel 🚌❄️🚗
Teachers will be in touch with students regarding all e-Learning assignments 📚📝. All after school and weekend activities are also canceled.📆
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as safety is always our top priority in District Five! #WeAreD5

Come along to the Polar Express! 🚂

K4 students were “Certified Christmas Cookie Testers” in the ACA Library Bakeshop today. They enjoyed a fun story and decorated cookies with Miss Koon. Cookie testers gave them two thumbs up! 🎄🍪
