It's School Board Appreciation Month, and we are honored to host Mr. Mark Cleveland for a visit to ACA today! Our ambassadors gave him a tour of the school, they visited multiple classrooms, Project Lead The Way, Literary Arts, and guidance. The D5 Chorus members sang a song lead by Mrs. Hawkins. Thank you for all you do for D5, Mr. Cleveland! 💙💚

Morrissey's 5th grade class shared stories from Christmas break in small groups. It was a great way to catch up when as they returned to school. ✏️

Abner Creek Middle 🐺 S.A.L.T (Student Athlete Leadership Team) visits ACA Friday mornings. You might see them helping in carline 🚘 , but they also take time to mentor students. Students 🐊 enjoy playing games, coloring 🖍️, and building with Legos together. It’s such a fun way to kick off Friday mornings! 💙💚
Barnhill's students are learning to sign the days of the week. 💚
Mrs Grube’s class has started their new unit of study in science on light. 💡 They conducted an experiment to determine what would happen when an object blocks light. This unit of study will be integrated into their academic showcase they share with parents in February.

Congratulations to our next ABCD Award Winner - Alisa Wallis. Mrs. Wallis is an assistant at our school and can be found everywhere doing ALL the things!

Alisa is such a hard worker. She’s always willing to jump in and help when anyone needs anything. She’s fast and efficient and ACA is so lucky to have her!
Alisa is super helpful with one of our kiddos! She comes in and helps him, just knowing what he needs. She is always positive and asking if there is anything else she can do to help. We love having her come in our room.
Wallis is always willing to help others, whether it’s a child or an adult. She has a loving and kind heart and shows genuine empathy for those around her. Wallis wants everyone to succeed and consistently strives to help others achieve their goals. She is always asking where she can help out and never seems to stop giving of herself. Wallis truly doesn’t know what it means to take a break, and I sincerely appreciate all the hard work and dedication she puts in.
Mrs. Wallis is always in a good mood and is a marigold on our hall. She is fast and efficient at making copies and is always willing to step in to help. She does it all!! She is always willing to step in wherever she’s needed. Her hard work, positive attitude, and friendly presence make a meaningful difference every day. She goes above and beyond in everything she does.
Alisa Wallis goes above and beyond for not just our hallway but the school in it's entirety. If you see Alisa, you know she is getting those steps in! She does a little... (aka A LOT) of everything. When she cannot be on our hallway, she communicates that. She takes the time and effort to know students and teachers on a personal level. She opened an entire bowl of starburst one time to bring me JUST THE PINK ONES! On a serious note, she gets things done and does it with a smile. Thanks for everything you do Alisa!!
Alisa Wallis is always there to help out where she is needed. I love having morning car duty with her! She took time to make amazing Christmas cards for every grade level. She finds a way to smile through every situation!
