Save the date! We are one week away from the start of school. Meet the Teacher will be Tuesday, August 4th, from 3:00-5:30. 🗓️
Please make sure you take care of the following BEFORE attending Meet the Teacher. 🍎
1)Complete InfoSnap (returning students only) and update a current proof of residence. 🏠 Failure to do so ahead of time can cause major delays and disruptions to your Meet the Teacher visit.
2) If your child will ride a bus 🚌 they need to be registered now. It takes days to route students and if you wait until Meet the Teacher it is very likely your child isn't routed in time for the start of school. You can check to ensure your child is registered by going to spart5.net, departments, and selecting transportation. Get the MyRide12 app (you will want this during the year anyway) and see if your child is registered and make sure all of the info is correct. If it is - you are all set. If not, fill out the registration link found on the same page. To get the app you will need your child's 5 digit ID number. This is your child's lunch # they may know-the number can also be found in Parent Portal or on a copy of your child's report card that was emailed to you last May.
We are so excited to have our Gators 🐊 return next week! Please ensure your InfoSnap, Proof of Residence, and bus registration (if applicable) is complete before Meet the Teacher to maximize your time visiting the classroom. See you Tuesday afternoon!
🌞 Summer is wrapping up, but there is still time to add books to your Summer Reading Challenge! 📚 Summer reading challenges will be due to Miss Koon by August 19th.
Our Gator 🐊 Staff was welcomed this morning by Abner Creek Academy PTO with breakfast from Eggs Up Grill (Moore) for our opening meeting!
Ms. Clark (2nd grade teacher) finished off her summer adventuring in Ireland 🇮🇪, Scotland 🏴, Austria 🇦🇹, and Czech Republic 🇨🇿. What a great adventure!

Ms. Kirby went to the Crayola Experience in Orlando. 🖍️ She was able to make her own crayon label, paint with melted wax from crayons, and create an artwork using melted crayons and a spinning table. She was also a part of a digital kaleidoscope. What an awesome adventure for one of our art 🖼️ teachers!

Shaun (rising 2nd) has had a busy, but fun summer! Adventures have included racing his dirt bike 🏍️, camping 🏕️ trips in South Carolina and North Carolina, meeting Madison Bumgarner, a West Virginia trip to see family and a trip to Alabama for camp.

Jesslyn (rising 4th) went on a Disney cruise 🚢 she traveled to Disney’s two private islands Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point in the Bahamas. She then spent the day in Nassau at Atlantis! She also finished her trip at Legoland in Winter Haven, FL. ☀️ 🏝️ 🏊 🐬

Eli (rising 1st) had an amazing week in the Cayman Islands 🇰🇾 and he is excited to share a little of his adventure.
He swam with stingrays and sea turtles 🐢, made friends with starfish, went snorkeling, visited a magical bioluminescent bay, and had lots of fun exploring with his friend, Brixton.
What an awesome Caribbean adventure!

Karlyn (Rising 4th) and Kooper (Rising 8th, ACMS) spent the week in the Happiest Place on Earth 🏰 with their Mom. Karlyn rode her very first roller coaster 🎢 , Slinky Dog Dash, and Kooper had way more fun than he is willing to admit. They came home with minimal sunburn and asking “when are we going back?!”. ❤️🖤

The Kleins (Carly, rising 5th; Juliette, rising 7th, ACMS; Mrs. Klein, 3rd grade) went to the Big Island of Hawaii! 🏝️ They snorkeled in the Pacific Ocean, saw lava fields from previous volcanic 🌋 eruptions, walked in a lava tube, visited a sacred Hawaiian valley, saw waterfalls, went to a luau 🌺, went to a black sand beach, visited several beautiful beaches, and saw lava in Kilauea at night (and even saw a lava rainbow!).
