The 100th day of school is coming! To celebrate 100 amazing days of school, we are challenging each grade level to collect 100 non-perishable food items by Friday, January 24. Students can begin bringing items on Tuesday.
The RoboTerriers Lego Robotics team season has begun! Our students got to know each other by playing fun lego games and began assembling the robotics pieces for our season.

Due to a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service, all District Five Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 10. ❄️ Friday, January 10 will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students. 💻 This decision was made in the best interest of safety for all D5 students and staff, as snow, sleet and ice is predicted by late Friday morning, and roads will likely be unsafe for buses, families or student drivers to travel 🚌❄️🚗
Teachers will be in touch with students regarding all e-Learning assignments 📚📝. All after school and weekend activities are also canceled.📆

What an amazing day at TRE! We are so grateful for our students and staff and enjoyed closing out the first semester at our new school.

Thank you to all of our parents and community members who helped purchase rewards for our Beanstack reading incentive program. Jibbits bracelets and charms were donated to be used as student prizes for completed reading challenges.
During our December challenge, TRE students read 42,218 minutes, 223 students participated, and 38 students completed the challenge by reading over 300 minutes. Each student who completed the challenge received a bracelet and a charm!
Today is the last day for students to pick up jackets from the lost and found. If you see your child's jacket in these pictures, please email their teacher to remind the student to pick up their jacket. Thank you!
❄️🎄🎁 Mrs. Wood's students had a great time wrapping up the semester today. There's no better way to celebrate the end of a great year than a pajama day!

Our third grade classes have been working on their research skills! Each class researched a country and wrapped up their research with a culture celebration. Students shared their research and got to try foods from all of the countries that were studied!
🐝 The 1st Annual TRE Spelling Bee took place today with 12 eager spellers from grades 3-5. The students all worked hard and showed off their excellent spelling skills.
After many rounds, the winner, Matias Centurion was declared. Anna Seuss was our runner up. Matias will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee at USC Upstate in February.
We are so very proud of all of our contestants for earning a spot in the Spelling Bee!
The staff at TRE is so blessed to have an amazing PTO who takes such good care of us! Today the staff was treated to a hot chocolate and treats buffet from the Tyger River PTO and Big Ben's Desserts. Thank you so much for all you do for our teachers!

Did someone say Christmas Sweater? The TRE staff held their first annual sweater contest and the winner was...Mr. Poore!
Last week the Terriers wrapped up the "Gobble Up Good Books" reading challenge in Beanstack. Classrooms competed to see who could read the most books aloud as a class and the top three classes received donuts from Krispy Kreme. The Terriers read over 360 books together in total during the month of November! Congratulations to our top three classes:
1st Place - Mrs. Cassidy with 68 books/chapters
2nd Place - Mrs. Hinch with 57 books/chapters
3rd Place - Mrs. Thompson with 36 books
It's time for our next reading challenge...the Bundle Up with Books Challenge! Students can log into Beanstack using their D5 Live Account to log minutes for this challenge. Any student who completes the challenge (by reading a total of 300 minutes before break) will receive a prize from the Media Center.
Who loves lemonade? 🍋🍋🟩 Mrs. Jackson's first graders!
The class visited the library this week to read "Lemonade in Winter." They reviewed counting coins and then made their own lemonade hats to describe the process of making lemonade.
There are only ten days until winter break! Next week will be a spirit week at TRE. Help us get ready for winter break by participating in our fun dress up days!
Students in Mrs. Knepp's and Mrs. Byar's K-4 classes have been learning about push and pull. The class pushed Pom Pom balls across the table by blowing air through a straw to see push and pull in real life! After that, they pushed chairs and pulled a cart to see the concepts in action again.
This week, some of our fifth graders worked with Mrs. Rennhack and conducted a soda experiment. They observed the experiment and wrote home about what learned. Check out this awesome experiment!
