Mrs. Cloonan's class has had a wonderful start to 2nd grade! They have learned about having a growth mindset and teamwork. They also go to meet Dr. Fair to learn the difference between fair and equal to be able to recognize that everyone has different needs to be successful!










Today for our Community Helpers lesson, we had a very special visitor in Mrs. Cleveland’s classroom! 🇺🇸❤️Zachary Thompson, a United States Marine, came to read to our students and share about his experience serving in the military. Our students loved learning more about what it means to serve our country and the important role our military members have in our community. A huge thank you to Zachary for taking the time to visit, read with us, and share his experiences! We are so thankful for your service! 🇺🇸



Students in Mrs. Jenkins' class learned about therapy dogs 🦮 the first full week. They were able to finally see one working! ❤️






Woof! We were treated to a visit this morning from D5's K9 Therapy Dog, Maggie. She made sure everyone had a great start to our week.





Mrs. Powers’ class read the book Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney and learned how Miss Rumphius was known for making the world a more beautiful place. Following her lead, the students worked to make our classroom a more beautiful place by illustrating inspirational quotes to display around the room to motivate and remind them of her mission.










Thursday's Spirit Night at Pelican's was "snow" much fun!

Community heroes united for an exciting visit to Mrs. Cleveland's class this week as they continued their Community unit! Our SRO Kelly and Firefighter Richard read to students and shared about their jobs.





Mrs. Powers’ and Mr. Jackson’s classes had fun exploring the world of maps! 🗺️📚 Students searched through a variety of nonfiction books to find different types of maps, connecting their reading to our Social Studies study of map types and map skills.










Mrs. Cobb's class had lots of fun applying the place value skills learned in class while playing math games.



Today Mrs. Sheriff’s class had a visitor with perfect timing! They just finished reading “Flora and Ulysses” about a girl and her squirrel sidekick. 😉 Just like the character from the book…this squirrel loved the bird food!
