🌎 World Wednesday takes us into our Social Studies Classrooms: Civics, Government, US History, Economics, Leadership, and Personal Finance with focuses on political heritage within the 13 colonies, charters forming the constitution, the French and Indian War, opportunity costs, one-word leadership and check writing. Career and Technology Education Classes are busy discussing leaders in their lives along with workplace marketing concepts, working on the Byrnes Athletic webpage in Code HS and discovering the fundamentals of web design in Code HS. Project Lead the Way is deconstructing machines and learning anatomical root words.
We would like to welcome Ms. Olivia Diggs to our Physical Education Department! Coach Diggs is moving from her support position as a strength and conditioning team member in the weight room into the PE classroom as a teacher! Coach Diggs will also be the Girl’s JV Volleyball Coach. We are glad to have you, Coach Diggs!
Today we are featuring Physical Education and ROTC for our Move and Make a Difference Mondays! It is still quite early and we are in the foundational rules and planning stages for these classes but we will catch them in FULL ACTION next week.

Parents, check your email for information and the NEW Campus Traffic Flow Map and other first day procedures. Remember to give yourself extra time tomorrow and remind your drivers to do the same. You should also receive another email with the most-up-to-date schedules to send with your students with corrected room numbers and any course corrections.
Tomorrow August 6, 2026 is THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL and our faculty and staff are excited to welcome students back to James F. Byrnes High School for another outstanding year! We have been working hard all summer to prepare for a successful start and we can’t wait to see our students fill these hallways!
Students should be prepared to report directly to their Grad Group at 7:57am. The school day begins at 8:15 am.
Remind them to ask if they need help finding their way around campus - we are all in this together!
