Ms. White, our 6th grade guidance counselor, and Ms. Parris, our career specialist, have been visiting 6th grade classes to introduce themselves and share all the ways our Guidance Department is here to support students. Students learned about the resources available to them and even got an introduction to exploring future career paths!

Congratulations to Orchestra Director Brian Gencarelli and the Florence Chapel Orchestra on earning the SCMEA Outstanding Performance Award for the 2025–2026 school year!
This prestigious award recognizes the accomplishments of our orchestra students at SCMEA events throughout the year. Only 21 middle school orchestra programs in South Carolina qualified for an OPA this year, making this achievement even more special!
This marks Florence Chapel’s 4th consecutive Outstanding Performance Award! We are incredibly proud of Mr. Gencarelli, our talented students, and the continued excellence of our orchestra program. 🎶

🐾 Cougars Lead: Adopt-A-Cougar Mentoring Program
We are excited to grow our Adopt-A-Cougar mentoring program at Florence Chapel Middle School! This program connects students with caring teachers, families, and community members who want to invest in a student and help them succeed.
💙 What does being a mentor involve?
• Meeting with your student once a month
• Offering encouragement and support throughout the week
• Supporting your student in school and at extracurricular activities
• Bringing a small, packaged snack or breakfast/lunch item during monthly meetings
• Being a consistent, positive presence in your student’s life
The most important part is commitment. Our students look forward to these connections each week, and having a dependable mentor can make a powerful and lasting impact.

📚 Meet the Teacher is Almost Here! 🐾
We can’t wait to welcome our Cougar families for Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 3, from 2:00–6:00 PM!
A few important reminders:
📍 Student IDs will NOT be distributed during Meet the Teacher. Students will receive their IDs from their homeroom teachers on the first day of school.
🚗 Car tags may be picked up in the Front Office during Meet the Teacher.
