Congratulations to Kate Schaub and Claire Schaub for being accepted into the Rebel Theatre Honors program at Byrnes High School! Their hard work and determination has paid off and we are so excited to see what they will do in the future! #CougarsLEAD

Jackson Liu recently participated in the 2025 All State Orchestra held at Boiling Springs High School. 216 string players and 70 wind, brass, and percussion students from all over SC came together to perform. Jackson represented FCMS so well!

The FCMS 8th grade class was privileged to have members of the Byrnes JROTC come to share about what their program offers our students in the coming school year!

Parents, this is some important information about picking up your child from the Sparkle Dance on Tuesday!

Mr. McDonald’s classes have been working on researching the various causes of the Civil War. They had the opportunity to work in the media center and practice turning their “5 W’s” into full writings. Developing great skills to carry into higher education!

Our 8th grade students did a great job at the poetry reading during the Academic Showcase this week, sharing from some classic poems, as well as reading a few original pieces!

Many thanks to Caleb Davis from Grace Bible Church for plowing through the snow to share with our FCA bunch this morning!

Last night at the Academic Showcase, our students had the opportunity to walk their parents through their achievements from this school year, and everyone was able to see the amazing things that happen at FCMS! We had musical performances, poetry readings, and food trucks to boot! #CougarsLEAD

It only takes a snow flake or two to make smiles like these! ❄️❄️❄️

Last night at our Academic Showcase, our band, chorus, and orchestra all performed beautifully! #CougarsLEAD

Mrs. Howard’s students participated in a Wicked Hydra activity in preparation for reading “A Long Walk to Water.” This activity exposes students to concepts and excerpts from the novel that encourage them to make personal connections and pose important questions.

In recognition of National School Resource Officer Day, FCMS would love to send an enormous shout out to our very own, Officer Teresa Ferguson! Officer Ferguson’s #1 priority every day is the safety and welfare of every person in our building, and we love and respect her so much for that. Along with that, she understands that our students need someone who also cares beyond the mistakes that people sometimes make, and she is always available for guidance, practical advice, and a listening ear. She always conducts herself with incredible dignity, and she is fun-loving and so easy to enjoy. She is a treasured gift to our school, and today we want to say thank you, Officer Ferguson!

FCMS owes a huge debt of gratitude to Belinda Churchill, one of our mentors and partners! Today she provided our staff with a full Chick Fila breakfast, along with donuts, drinks, many other snacks. It was a delicious way for us to start our day, and we are all very grateful! #CougarsLEAD
