On Friday, Ms. Edwards’ Career Clusters class had an opportunity to learn about the Health Science cluster and the Business Management/Administration cluster from Paula Onofre of Duncan Fitness & Nutrition. They also had the opportunity to taste a healthy donut, with no sugar and no flour! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars 🍩 🍩



Mrs. Wiant’s Math 7 classes went math speed-dating on Tuesday! Students were given a problem to solve on their own. When the timer went off they worked with their “math date “ to see if they were correct. Creative collaboration! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars




Congratulations to the FCMS girls basketball team! On Saturday they won the Peachtree Conference tournament, completing a remarkable, undefeated season. They finished as regular season and tournament champions. We are so proud of these talented, hard-working players and coaches! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars🏀🏀🏀

Students in Mr. McDonald’s reviewed the Bill of Rights, then created their own examples of the amendments to help see them in practice. Practical learning in action!






This week we are celebrating our guidance counselors at FCMS. Their work is incredibly vital as they serve our students with such personal care, wisdom, and grace. They are absolutely integral to the wellbeing of our school and they are each so deserving of recognition. Thank you, Shameka Dunlap, Chelsea Eubanks, and Tammy Martin!


Mrs. Bass’ students are working on a writing workshop in which they dissect the 4.0 Rubric and are working in pairs as panelists to evaluate the TDAs they have written. Later they will score their own TDA and then make revisions to improve their final grade. #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars






Mr. Austin performed his own monologue for Miss Warren’s theater classes this week. He loves stepping in a becoming part of our classes!

Mr. Pegram, Mr. Lawrence, Mrs. McKinney, and Ms. Peery implemented a Skittles Math Lab for our 8th grade modified math class. The students explored ratios and proportions using Skittles. Tasty activity! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars
