BIG congratulations to both the 7th and 8th grade bands for earning a Superior with Distinction at Concert Performance Assessment. Superior with Distinction is the highest possible rating a band can receive. This is a testament to their hard work and dedication. We are so proud of their accomplishments! 👏

We'd like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of the vendors participating in the 7th Grade Career Fair on Friday! Our 7th graders are super excited!

After reading White Fur Flying, our RISE class brought the story to life!📚🐾 They had the special chance to meet a real Great Pyrenees named Max. Max worked very hard earning lots of pets and treats from our students.

Rion Blikle spent Job Shadowing Day learning from the best at the Pelham-Batesville Fire Department alongside his dad, Robert Blikle! 🚒
Thank you to the Blikle family and the firefighters for giving Rion a firsthand look at what it takes to serve and protect the community.
We’re excited that the Pelham-Batesville Fire Department will also be joining us at the 7th Grade Career Fair at Abner Creek Middle on March 20th!

Teachers are continuing the P2P (Peer 2 Peer) program by observing one another’s classrooms. We caught glimpses of Ms. Long’s ELA class and Mr. Lehman’s science class engaged in an ecosystem sampling activity.

Mr. Kay, Dr. Austin, and Mr. Noble represented our school at SCAMLE this past Saturday! They delivered a fantastic presentation on our House System, sharing how it builds community, encourages leadership, and supports every student’s growth.

Last weekend, students from across the state gathered at Furman University for the 2026 All State Orchestra. 🎻
Out of 8 students from District 5 selected to participate, we had 3 accepted and 2 attend (Lachlan Dinger unfortunately fell ill).
We are so proud of their accomplishment! The concert was amazing! 🌟

Even though hospital regulations require students to be 16 to participate in on-site job shadowing, we made sure our students didn’t miss out! 💉🩺
This morning, we brought the healthcare field to FCMS with incredible hands-on experiences from Spartanburg EMS and On Point Lab. Thank you both for investing in our future healthcare professionals!
This afternoon, over 50 middle school students joined a Zoom session with Joseph Campbell from Byrnes High School, learning about PLTW, cybersecurity, coding, and gaming pathways available in high school. 💻🎮
A full day of real-world connections and future-focused learning at FCMS! 👏 #JobShadowingDay

We hope to see you at the Sparkle Dance! ✨

Our Spanish 1 students didn’t let a little rain dampen their spirits today as they headed out for a delicious and educational field trip to Los Mexicanos. Experiences like this help students build confidence in speaking, listening, and understanding Spanish in real-world settings. We are so proud of how respectfully and enthusiastically they represented our school. #CougarsLEAD
¡Buen trabajo, estudiantes!
