🚨 SCIENCE IN ACTION! 🚨
Mrs. McCrary’s 8th grade science class just turned the playground into a physics battleground! 🧪 ⚔️
In a series of epic tug-o-war showdowns, students pulled their weight (literally) to explore forces, friction, and Newton’s laws.💥
Some teams relied on brute strength, others on strategy… but everyone walked away with a better grip on the laws of motion (and maybe a sore arm or two). 🧠➡️💪

Ms. Johnson’s students participated in a hands-on archaeology dig! They uncovered artifacts representing various historical civilizations. Students recorded their findings, making connections between the artifacts and the cultures they represented.
Afterwards, the class came together to analyze their discoveries, share their hypotheses, and evaluate evidence. It was a day full of critical thinking, collaboration, and historical exploration! 📚

This afternoon in Ms. Parsons' PLTW App Creators class, students turned GPS map directions into coding algorithms. 🗺️📍How fun and creative! 🎉

Our Choir students were called to the Choir room this morning to let them know that they have been selected as a featured performing ensemble at the South Carolina Music Educators Conference this coming February. This is one of the highest recognitions we can receive in the state, and we are so proud of these students as well as Mrs. Shiflett. Help us congratulate them on this amazing accomplishment!

What does respect look, feel, and sound like? Today in Ms. Johnson’s class, students explored this big question by sharing their thoughts on sticky notes and creating a class chart. They had meaningful conversations about how we treat one another and the importance of thinking before we speak or act. Ms. Johnson also flipped the script! She told students they often hear what’s expected of them, but now she wanted to know what they expect from her as their teacher. Giving students a voice is a powerful part of the classroom community, and they loved the chance to share! 🧑🏫

Coach Bailey’s gym class is building culture and respect, one name at a time! 😊 Students were challenged to learn each other’s names. The fun ended with an old-fashioned game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. The girls took home the victory!

Our 8th graders are out enjoying the weather during recess today!
