Understanding Our ABCDA Rotating Schedule

One of the biggest adjustments for students entering middle school is learning how the ABCDA rotating schedule works. This guide will help students and families understand what to expect each day.

Core Days

Our school follows a rotating A, B, C, D, A schedule. The first core class of the day changes depending on the letter day. Each day begins with a different core class, and the remaining core classes follow in order.

Monday: A Day (A → B → C → D)

Tuesday: B Day (B → C → D → A)

Wednesday: C Day (C → D → A → B)

Thursday: D Day ( D → A → B → C)

Friday: A Day (A → B → C → D)

Related Arts

Students attend their related arts classes every day at their assigned time. The time for related arts remains the same for each student's schedule, and is based on their grade.

6th-grade Related Arts Times:

  • 8:15 AM-9:00 AM

  • 12:21 PM-1:06 PM

7th-grade Related Arts Times:

  • 10:19 AM-11:04 AM

  • 2:27 PM-3:13 PM

8th-grade Related Arts Times:

  • 9:17 AM-10:02 AM

  • 1:30 PM-2:15 PM

Keeping Track of the Schedule

The current letter day will be posted on each hallway. Students can also ask a teacher if they are unsure which letter day is being followed. It may take a few days to get used to the rotation, but students quickly become familiar with the schedule and the daily routine.

The First Week:

For the first week of school, Thursday (8/6) and Friday (8/7) will function as A days.

Benefits of a Rotating Schedule:

  • Balanced Learning Across Rotating Classes

  • Optimal Focus and Energy Alignment

  • A Fresh, Engaging Weekly Routine
