He may be a voice of authority at BFA and always reminding you to "get to class" or "make sure that ID is on" but Mr. Maus is still a fan favorite with our students! It is not often that you see an assistant principal hanging out with the students at lunch! 😂
We want to let you know that out of an abundance of caution, Tuesday, January 9, will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students and staff.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Spartanburg County and the upstate due to strong storms that are due to hit our area throughout the day tomorrow. Heavy rainfall and winds are due to hit the Upstate before or near school dismissal times Tuesday, making it too dangerous for our buses, student drivers or families to travel. The state of South Carolina restricts school bus travel if sustained winds hit 30 mph or gusts exceed 40 mph.
We will be communicating this message to our parents and families very shortly. All after school activities and practices will also be canceled for Tuesday.

Don't sound the alarms for this one, because these 🔥flames🔥 were part of an experiment in Mrs. Pickren's science class. Students tested different metallic solutions by dipping them into a flame, then determined what the metal was based on the color of the flame!
The Rebel Regiment are the 2023 SC 5A Upper State Champs 🏆 and overall Silver Medalist!!!🥈Of course here at BFA we are proud of the whole band, but we are partial to our freshman performers ! Way to go! 👏🏻
Yesterday at BFA was Career BINGO! Part of our 🧑🏼⚕️👮🏾♀️👷🏽♀️National Career Development Month 👩🏾🍳👨🏻🔧👩🏾💼 festivities, teachers wore T-shirts donated from dozens of local business, and students had to hunt them down to learn about the business and to get them to sign off on their bingo cards. What a fun way for students to learn about local businesses and what they do!

Student artists from BFA will have their art displayed in the FAC for the month of November. The FAC is open for viewing 1 hour before all events. Congratulations to these artists and their teachers.

🍲🔪Cooking Club🌿🍳 has been one of the most popular Flex Time activities this year. Our students love to get in the kitchen and makes some treats! Today, Mr. Maus even donned an apron and helped as the club made Rice Krispy Treat Pumpkins! 🎃 Looks delicious!😋
Earlier this week, BFA's AVID Scholars toured the Middle Tyger Community Center as part of their Community Service Unit. Students learned all about the incredible services available to our community. Our AVID Scholars know that giving back builds social awareness, empathy, and communication skills! Thank you MTCC for hosting us!
When the weather in SC starts cooling down ⛅😎 you gotta take advantage of it before it gets too cold! 🥶 That's just what the Art Club did during Flex time, taking some time outside and making some sidewalk chalk masterpieces!
Today during Flex Period, Middle Tyger Library stopped by to help students sign up for Teen Library Cards! Of course, they know how to speak the language of 9th graders, because they brought a prize wheel too! 📚📚
This morning several students and teachers participated in the nationwide event 🇺🇸🚩🙏 See You at the Pole 🙏🚩. They came together around the flag poles and prayed for our school, teachers, and students. Special thank you to Church at The Mill and Pastor Tripp Atkinson for coming by and closing out event and bringing donuts for the students!

Today was a freaky day at BFA! 👨🏫Teacher vs. Student🙋♂️ Day had everybody doing a double take! Students decided to take the chance to dress as their favorite teachers and they've never looked more professional! Teachers decided to dress like their students and they've never looked more comfortable! Don't forget to dress up the rest of the week and show that school spirit! Thursday is Hall of Fame Day dress as your favorite team, athlete, celeb, influencer, etc).
🎄🎃💘🦃Holiday! Celebrate!🌎🐰🎆🍀 It looked like the calendar exploded today at BFA! The whole school was decked out in all sorts of holiday outfits! From Christmas and Halloween to Earth Day and Lunar New Year to Birthdays and Flag Day, students got creative and had a blast on Holiday Day!
