Students in Ms. Pierce's class put their inference skills to the test today to make predictions about what could be inside the mystery box!





Students in Mrs. Linkous' 6th grade social studies classes spent last week using CHOMPS, a close reading strategy, to learn about geography and map reading skills. They became the expert and taught the class the information that they discovered. Students then took notes while they watched their peers present! #readingnonfiction #studentexperts




8th grade science students explored different types of friction today by testing how changing the surface affects movement. Lots of discoveries, lots of fun… and even Axel was watching closely, wishing he could join in on the experiments!










Students in Mrs. Williams’ Design & Modeling classes showcased their innovative designs for a foot orthosis tailored for children. Through a structured decision-making process, they presented their prototypes and utilized a decision matrix to evaluate each design. This experience not only enhanced their problem-solving skills but fostered collaboration and critical thinking.










Mrs. Harper's class is learning characterization in their short story "The Medicine Bag" by using the STEAL method. This was a great cross-curricular moment to practice evidence and reasoning that they learned in science!

Mrs. Harper's English students learned how descriptive language can affect the mood of a story! Using a pair-share model, students narrowed down their examples and explained how their chosen descriptive sentences added to the story as a whole. Great job!





Ms. Dillingham's 7th grade math students worked with a partner on an adding and subtracting integers scavenger hunt around the classroom.









Mrs. Duncan's 7th grade ELA students role-played today by asking open-ended questions. They acted as characters from our recent story, “Seventh Grade”, by Gary Soto.










Students in Mrs. Fisher’s class did a great job today sharing their growth mindset slides. They are ready to have a positive year of persevering.
