Students in Mrs. Linkous' 6th grade social studies classes spent last week using CHOMPS, a close reading strategy, to learn about geography and map reading skills. 8th grade science students explored different types of friction today by testing how changing the surface affects movement. Lots of discoveries, lots of fun… and even Axel was watching closely, wishing he could join in on the experiments!
Students in Mrs. Williams’ Design & Modeling classes showcased their innovative designs for a foot orthosis tailored for children. Through a structured decision-making process, they presented their prototypes and utilized a decision matrix to evaluate each design. This experience not only enhanced their problem-solving skills but fostered collaboration and critical thinking.
Mrs. Harper's class is learning characterization in their short story "The Medicine Bag" by using the STEAL method. This was a great cross-curricular moment to practice evidence and reasoning that they learned in science!
