Today, we honor our amazing School Resource Officer, Officer Moreno, who protects and inspires our students daily. 💙 He truly makes a difference! ✨


Our 8th Grade boys team lost in the third round of the Peachtree Conference Playoffs last night at Dawkins Middle School against Florence Chapel 42-28. Our boys had an incredible run at the end of the season going on a 4 game winning streak and knocking out the #3 seed Boiling Springs. Huge shoutout to Coach Cox for an incredible end of season run and representing Abner Creek in a big way. Congrats to players and Coaches. Go Wolves!


Huge Peachtree Playoff games at Abner Creek today at 4:30 and 5:30. Dawkins plays McCracken at 4:30 and Abner Creek plays Boiling Springs at 5:30. Go Wolves!


Mr. Watson’s 8th Grade AVID Students hosted a special edition of Wolves of the Workforce today! 8th Graders presented their AVID career projects to groups of 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders. We are so proud of this group of students. Way to go! Stay tuned for more student career presentations next week!








Mrs. Kay’s class just finished a unit on informational text features and structures. They wrote magazine articles using a text structure combined with several text features.






Girls lost a close game to Gable to end a great season where they finished 9-3 in the regular season. Great job Coach Aiken, Coach Lindsay, and players! Abner Creek 8th Grade Boys upset Boiling Springs with a big win to knock out #3 Boiling Springs. The 8th Grade boys will play in Round 3 on Thursday against Florence Chapel at Dawkins at 4:30 pm. Our 7th Boys play tomorrow at Abner Creek Middle at 5:30 against Boiling Springs. Go Wolves!


Last week, Ms. Dewyea's students used Oreos to demonstrate the different moon phases. By carefully scraping off the cream, they were able to show each phase from new moon to full moon and everything in between.






Round 2 starts today for our Abner Creek Wolves Basketball teams in the Peachtree Playoffs. Our Lady Wolves play at 4:30 at D.R. Hill against Gable Middle School. Our 8th Grade Boys play at 4:30 at Florence Chapel against Boiling Springs. Let's cheer these teams on! Go Wolves!

We had so much fun today with Mr. Todd Summers, Sports Anchor and Reporter from WSPA Channel 7 News. Students learned all about the career of a reporter and even got to practice their interview and videography skills! As we celebrate National School Counselors Week we honor our wonderful school counselors, Mrs. Irby and Ms. Dunlap.
They provide constant support and guidance. They are dedicated to our students and help them navigate challenges, encourage, support and help them to achieve their goals. We are so grateful for you and all you do for us all at Abner Creek Middle School!


Huge wins for our girls and 8th grade boys teams yesterday as both teams survive and advance! Big shoutout to Coach Cox and Coach Aiken! Our Lady Wolves will play Monday against Gable @ D.R. Hill at 4:30pm. Our 8th Grade boys will play Monday against Boiling Springs @ Florence Chapel at 4:30 pm. Our 7th Boys will play Wednesday against Boiling Springs at Abner Creek Middle and the time has not been set yet.

Ms. Harrison, our technology coach, came to teach our English I students how to use WeVideo to create book trailers for their quarterly book reports. Students learned how to layer text, pictures, and sounds and how to create the right mood for their books through sounds, picture choices, and cliffhanger elements.







Mean Girls Jr. Production
Abner Creek Middle School presents Mean Girls Jr. on February 13th at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $5 per person and will be on sale in the front office from Monday February 10 to Thursday February 13. You can also purchase tickets on the night of the show at the D5 Fine Arts Center. Box office and doors open at 6:00pm. Our show will start at 6:30pm. Please note that no children under the age of 5 are allowed to attend.
We would love for you to support our students and staff who have worked tirelessly to put on this production. It will be a wonderful evening of entertainment!


Our school wide field trip to watch Mean Girls Jr.
Our Theatre Department has worked so hard to put together Abner Creek Middle School's very first production!
On February 13th, in the morning, we will be taking all of our students on buses to the D5 Fine Arts Center to watch Abner Creek Middle School’s first production of Mean Girls Jr. There will be no cost for the students to attend. Please complete and return your students’ permission forms to the school by Monday February 10th. We need all forms returned please, ticking whether you do or do not give permission.
This will be a fun outing for the whole school and we look forward to enjoying our school's production together!


7th Grade Boys won their first playoff game against Fairforest. They will play next Wednesday against Boiling Springs. Time is TBD.

Students in Ms. Scherer’s Fundamentals of Computing Part B class are exploring different ways that data can be visualized on computers! They are learning how to interpret the information and are learning the importance of visually depicting data to make information easier to use as it helps us understand trends and changes in information. Students analyzed visualizations on U.S. Recorded Music Revenue, National Parks, March Madness Statistics, and Captain Marvel.
