App Creators designed and built apps about our school! 7th graders collaborated with Avid students to create apps about Avid, and 6th graders created apps to give information about ACMS. Families and staff members were invited to come learn about and use the apps today and were all so impressed!

As the AVID students restocked the Wolf Den, preparing for another busy day, they expressed excitement, thanks, and gratitude to Mr. John, for providing a brand new shelf to organize their merchandise and inventory. The Wolf Den is a student store owned and fully operated by the AVID Elective students under the supervision of Mr. Watson. Proceeds offset the costs of AVID field trips and activities. Thanks, Mr. John!

Cops for Tots! Thirty-five years ago, one employee at the Greer Police Department started the Cops for Tots Program as a way to help a small number of struggling families in the Greer area at Christmas time. The program was established to provide gifts for children who otherwise would have no gifts to open on Christmas day. Since that time, the program has grown exponentially and now helps hundreds of children each December. If you'd like to make a donation, here is some information! Toys you can be dropped off to Officer Moreno's office, and he will drop them off at the police department.

AVID students just finished learning how to conduct tutorial labs. The goal of AVID tutorials is to teach students how to learn through the inquiry process. Students also learn how to function in collaborative study groups and take their learning to a higher level, all while preparing for college culture. Tutorials are conducted every Tuesday and Thursday during the AVID class. AVID students will help each other and hope to be able to offer tutoring to non AVID students who may be struggling in core content as well!

Not only did teachers get treated to breakfast from PTO, but our amazing administration treated us all to a pizza as we left today. Many of us have big plans this evening, and it's so nice that we don't have to cook or worry about feeding our families. Thank you so much for all the "extras" today!
