Chorus students enjoyed their annual fall party this week! The choir officers did an amazing job and planning the event so that all choir students had a chance to meet each other, eat lots of food, play fun games, and sing karaoke! A big thanks to Mr. Dean for taking care of popcorn explosions!

Big thanks to Mrs. Spencer for supporting Mrs. Bo’s ELA classes with a fun writing activity! 🎉 Students spun a wheel to pick a character and a conflict, then used their creativity to write short stories. The surprise? Mr. Dean ended up being the main character in a lot of their stories—without even knowing it! 😄 Thanks for the laughs and learning, Mrs. Spencer!

Today, students Ms. Pierce's classes stepped into the courtroom for a Tell-Tale Heart Mock Trial, complete with a judge, lawyers, witnesses, jurors, and even the ghost of the old man! They debated the narrator’s sanity, questioned key witnesses, and presented evidence straight from the story. Every student had a role, and they owned it!

Ms. Ripple’s classes used their word knowledge to complete an Escape Room. Students collaborated to complete rhyming puzzles, a cryptogram, a pictogram, and a logic puzzle. Once they gathered the 4 key words, they had to unscramble the sentence to find the correct combination. Everyone enjoyed seeing if their combination was correct to open the lock! 🔓

Who says you can't learn math in ELA? Ms. Mezzacampo helped our 8th graders with setting up a pie chart to explain who is to blame for Bob's death in The Outsiders. Students then found evidence from the text to support their reasoning!
