Mrs. Landon’s 8th grade science students wrapped up an exciting project before spring break that blended science, creativity, and storytelling! 🎨🧬📚 Students tapped into their imagination as they “Built a Beast” designed to survive in a specific environment using unique adaptations. They didn’t stop there! Students also used their ELA skills to craft a story about their creature and explain how its adaptations helped it survive. But the challenge wasn’t over… 🌪️🌋 After a sudden catastrophe hit their environments, students had to rethink their designs and adapt their beasts again to survive the new conditions. Check out some of their work!

Ms. Stewart’s classes took part in an engaging card game to better understand how quickly the Black Plague spread and the impact it had on populations. This hands-on activity helped bring history to life and gave students a meaningful way to explore how rapidly diseases can affect communities.

Our students just had an AMAZING Gallery Walk! 🖼️ Mrs. Kay's ELA classes created research projects on animals they love—Adobe posters and videos with students showcasing their animals in the wild. The creativity and effort were incredible! 🐾✨
A huge thank you to the parents and school staff who came to celebrate with us! Your support means everything to our students. ❤️

6.1 Sixth grade friends enjoyed their special lunch incentive for meeting their I-ready ELA stretch goal!

Ms. Dillingham's classes were challenged to pass a certain number of IReady lessons during their IReady BLITZ week. Every class went above and beyond to reach their class goal and enjoyed a candy salad as their reward!

Last week was underground spirit week for the teachers.... do you think the students caught on?

Mrs. Sturgis’ Scientists had a great time participating in March Mammal Madness! 🐾🌎
Students researched different animals to make their bracket predictions, using what they learned to decide which species would come out on top in each matchup.
Shoutout to our four class winners who made some impressive picks along the way—and in the end, the whale claimed the championship spot in the bracket 🐋🏆

Students in Mrs. Kirkland’s 7th grade science classes turned learning into a cool experience! 🍦
To explore endothermic reactions, students made their very own ice cream—seeing firsthand how energy is absorbed during a chemical process. Hands-on learning like this makes science both fun and unforgettable!
Great job to our young scientists for mixing curiosity with creativity! 👩🔬👨🔬

Attention 8th Graders!!! We have BIG NEWS!

Axel the bearded dragon joined some students and teachers outside for some sunshine Friday!! ☀️

The ACMS theater troupe went to competed at Newberry this weekend! 🎭
The entire team was recognized as a new and upcoming theater troupe in the upstate and received a scholarship to come back next year. We are so proud! Congratulations to Andi Domingues - 2nd place in theatrical design and 2nd in Solo Acting and Paisley Burgess- 2nd place in storytelling.

English I students evaluated the hero's journey through multiple stories, from Moana to Spiderman! After evaluating their story for the parts of a hero's journey, students then had to teach their story to a group. This helped enforce communication and note taking skills! ❤️

Great minds think alike.... 🖤🤍🖤🤍
