All District Five schools and offices will operate on a two hour delay on Wednesday, February 4. After closely evaluating roads across the district, conditions have greatly improved.  Main roads have cleared and snow has melted, however, some icy areas remain on secondary roads. Although the impact is minimal, District Five will not send buses down any roads that are impassable. If your student rides the bus and this impacts your route, our Transportation team will reach out parents and families directly.

The two-hour delay will allow for additional daylight and warming temperatures, giving everyone extra time to travel safely.

The following details apply to a two hour delay:

  • School start times will be two hours later than normal

    • Elementary schools will begin at 9:30 a.m.

    • Middle and high schools will begin at 10:15 a.m.

  • School buses will run two hours later than their normal schedules

  • There will be no 4K or PCD classes, and no morning classes at R.D. Anderson on Wednesday

  • Breakfast and lunch will both be served

If there are any additional updates, we will communicate with families and staff as soon as possible.
