Veterans Day

Tyger River Elementary School held a moving Veterans Day program that brought our school community together in gratitude and respect. We want to extend our deepest thanks to the veterans who attended—your presence, stories, and sacrifice inspired our students and reminded us all of the true meaning of service. Seeing our young learners listen attentively and respond with thoughtful questions was a powerful reminder of how important it is to honor those who have served.

A special thank you goes to our amazing third-grade teachers. Your dedication to preparing students—helping them practice their readings, perfect their dress, and understand the history and significance behind the day—made the program both meaningful and age-appropriate. The confidence and poise our third graders displayed spoke volumes about the time and care you invested.

We also want to recognize Mrs. Gill, our music teacher, whose expertise and enthusiasm elevated the event. From selecting fitting songs to leading rehearsals and guiding students through musical pieces that tugged at everyone’s heartstrings, Mrs. Gill played a central role in making the program memorable. Her work helped students express their appreciation in song and created moments that will stay with our community.

Thank you to all staff, volunteers, and families who supported the event behind the scenes. Your teamwork ensured a smooth, respectful program that honored our veterans and educated our students. To the veterans who joined us: we are grateful for your service and for sharing your time and experiences with our school. Tyger River Elementary is proud to have celebrated Veterans Day with such dignity and warmth.
