Our students enjoyed Aspen’s Shaved Ice today during recess! 🪒🧊

FCMS was a beehive of activity and energy today. Part of that was the exciting release of the 2025 yearbooks! Big props to Jeanne Thomas for putting together an amazing memento from this school year!

The FCMS bands completed their final performances of the year recently at Carowinds, and the results were stellar yet again. Both the 6th grade band and the 7th/8th grade band earned ratings of “Superior” from every judge! Congratulations on an amazing year of achievement and fantastic music! 🎺🥁🎷🎶

Awards Day information

It’s School Nurses Day and we’re more than happy to celebrate Nurse Susan Duggar today! She is a ferocious caretaker of our students and staff. She is so knowledgeable and vigilant, but she also brings abundant compassion to her work as well. She’s an incredible asset. We are so fortunate and grateful for Dr. Duggar. We love her for what she does, how she does it, and who she is! #CougarsLEAD

Many thanks to Woodruff Roebuck Water District for providing our staff with an ice cream bar! Likewise, thanks to Draxlmaier for sharing Nothing Bundt Cakes with everyone! Teacher Appreciation Week was incredible! 🍨🍧🥮🎂

Big shoutout to our admin for providing pancakes and sausage this morning and drinks at lunchtime today! Teacher Appreciation Week has been phenomenal! 🥞🥞🥞

In recognition of School Principals’ Day, Florence Chapel is pretty darn excited to celebrate Josh Kay, our leader and our captain. Mr. Kay had a vision for what he wanted FCMS to be, and as it beginning to take that shape, it is easy to see that everyone is better for it. We work in an environment where people respect and care for one another, where excellence in academics, arts, music, athletics, and character is persistently acknowledged, and where we have fun doing the work we are called to do. Josh’s fingerprints are all over that. And we are grateful that is true. Thank you, Mr. Kay for making a difference by helping us to be our best. FCMS loves you!

Athletic information

Ms. Snow’s classes were visited by a special FCMS celebrity this week. Mrs. Benita Heintz taught her science classes how math and science are interconnected with a fun game. Benita taught at Florence Chapel for 14 years previously and is also Ms. Snow’s mom! It was a very special day in the Ma’at House!

Ms. Warren’s theatre students have worked super hard for weeks preparing for their final performance today, and they were outstanding! 🎭#CougarsLEAD

Special thanks to McDonald’s of Duncan for being so kind to our staff today! They provided a coffee, tea, and lemonade bar for us and made Teacher Appreciation Week even better. Many thanks to you, Terry Stephenson!

Our entire staff is so grateful to several local businesses who were very generous with us today! Nth Degree Orthodontics and Ryan Homes provided Chick Fila biscuits with coffee and tea for breakfast. Also Pizza Inn of Duncan donated a heaping load of amazing desserts for us. We were treated to amazing food and drink by our incredibly kind sponsors! Thank you! 🐓🍪☕️🫐🧋

The FCMS staff was treated by our admin to a canine-themed lunch today, with lots of amazing food. Special thanks to Mr. Kay for manning the grill full of hot dogs and brats. Trish, Sam, and others did a load of work getting everything ready for us. It was an awesome start to Teacher Appreciation Week!
