Byrnes BMW Scholars

Four Byrnes High School students are shifting their future plans into high gear, after being tapped for a prestigious program in the Upstate. The four Seniors are among 35 local high school students selected as BMW Rising Scholars, a program that gives high school students hands on experience and a fast track to a job after graduation. Wesley Evans, Jacob Sanchez, Jayden Sullivan and Solomon Yang were all chosen as Rising Scholars while attending classes at R.D. Anderson Applied Technology Center, as well as Byrnes.

The four Byrnes Seniors participated in a signing ceremony at BMW last week, along with other local high school students.

The Rising Scholars program, now in its 6th year, is a one-year apprenticeship program that allows high school seniors to work part time at BMW Manufacturing while also attending high school and a local Career and Technology Education (CATE) center. Students will work 16 hours per week primarily at the BMW Technical Training Center in Greer, while also completing their high school education.

Congratulations to these outstanding students!
