Today our 5th grade students went to DR Hill Middle School to begin the process of becoming 6th grade students next year. They learned about class options, AVID, DR Hill expectations, and toured the school.

Our 100th day of school will be next Friday, January 24th!

Today second grade students had a special in-school field trip with Pierce's Scaly Adventures. They were able to get a close look at a variety of reptiles to learn that you can't judge a book by its cover. Students found out interesting information about snakes and reptiles while focusing on character traits such as being kind, showing respect and staying positive.

Thank you to our MLP teachers for hosting this semester’s Multilingual Family Meeting. We love making these connections with our LES families and sharing resources from the community.

Our K5 classes have been busy since returning from the winter break. We are so proud of all of their hard work!

Today we celebrated our SRO, Officer Roberts. Thank you so much for keeping our school safe and being a happy, friendly, and comforting presence at LES! We appreciate you!

Due to a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service, all District Five Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 10. ❄️ Friday, January 10 will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students. 💻 This decision was made in the best interest of safety for all D5 students and staff, as snow, sleet and ice is predicted by late Friday morning, and roads will likely be unsafe for buses, families or student drivers to travel 🚌❄️🚗
Teachers will be in touch with students regarding all e-Learning assignments 📚📝. All after school and weekend activities are also canceled.📆
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as safety is always our top priority in District Five! #WeAreD5

Our Santa Shop has been a hit! Don't forget to come out tonight to our PTO Deck the Halls event. You can use cash or card at the Santa Shop tonight!

Our school is currently participating in a unique fundraising program with Art to Remember that gives you the opportunity to purchase keepsake items with your child’s artwork on them. The best part is that each keepsake order supports the art department at LES.
To order, go to arttoremember.com, search for your child’s name, enter their online order code, and start shopping! You can also scan your child’s personalized QR Code found on their order form that was sent home.
Please contact the art teacher Mrs. Nall if you have any questions!
